week 3 and I predict Hall doesn't play...Coaches I bet feel they can get the win without him and get him ready for Calvin AND Johnson in 2 weeks.... Bills running game with Spiller and Jackson will be something to stop.... We need to go up there and PUNCH THESE DUDES IN THE MOUTH QUICKLY!

I bet they hold him out another week. We'll either be playing Jeff Tuel or a FA player they pick up on the street. Hall doesn't help us significantly here..... This game is on our offense. If we don't turn it over and score more than 17 points, I don't see any way that Buffalo can win.

At least you corrected yourself.

Marvin didn't fuck up enough yesterday..... After he showed some balls and went for it on fourth and goal, I started to forget he was still the coach.

You mean until he started running the ball on three straight plays to give NE more than enough time on the clock to move into field position for a FG at the end of the half?

I mean seriously, there was almost like 3 minutes left before the half wasn't there, and Marvin just runs the ball 3 straight times deep in our own end?

I mean the logic lies here....if you run the ball three sraight times, besides the 2 minute warning, NE had 3 timeouts...there is no way in hell you are keeping them out of FG range even after a punt if you do not move the chains once. If you throw an incomplete pass, it does not help NE hardly at all, because they are either going to get into FG range immediately pretty much, or they or not, which means the stoppage of the clock does nothing to affect the defense. Yes, would have given them another chance at the end zone, but with the way the defense was playing yesterday, you take that chance that worst case scenerio, you are going to give up a FG. He should have taken a shot at the sticks on 3rd down there to try and keep the chains moving, but he was too conservative.

What the fuck do you want him to do? The last time he let Dandy and Genius Jay throw the ball in the last two minutes, they rewarded his coaching by throwing an incomplete 2 yard pass..... I wouldn't have any faith in them either.

I wouldn't feel confident about it, but unless Andy throws a pick right there, there is no draw back to taking a chance for the sticks. Make sure it is not underneath though if you are going to risk the incompletion. Even a 2 yard completion still keeps the clock moving like the run did.

I would have expected him to have taken a chance there I guess to at least try to keep NE from getting the ball back in such good field position. That is my opinion though I suppose.

That was a perfect damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

I think forcing N.E. to use all 3 timeouts was the right call there.

What I would have liked to have seen is a bit better run-play calling instead of just slamming it ahead 3 straight times. Maybe a quick pitch to Gio to get him outside into space, or something, but in reality...throwing the ball probably would have resulted in an incomplete pass (or worse), and N.E. with at least 1 time out, and decent starting field position.

At least if you force them to burn the timeouts, you can work on tackling them in-bounds to run the clock.

Again, damned if you do, damned if you don't.

They didn't burn through all 3 of their timeouts, because they had nearly 3 minutes, all 3 timeouts and a 2 minute warning. The Patriots got the ball back just barely on their side of the field with a 1:40 left ~ and 1 timeout. That is a lifetime with only 30 yards needed for a moderate FG attempt.

They were running it well. I'd hate to defend Marv here, but the running game got them all the way to mid-field. They did pass the ball and they got a first down to Gio.... He let himself get pushed out of bounds when he probably could have fallen in bounds and made them use a time out. And then he fumbled the next play.

What are you going to do if you're Marv and now you're backed up? Put Gio back in with the rain coming down? Or give it to the Firm and tell him to just not fumble? I think he played it right.

He played it right. I said before the game they would have to get the running game going if they were to beat the Pats. They did a good job of controlling the ball and the clock yesterday, and that was huge the way the defense was playing.

Sorry, was thinking last 2 minutes of 1st half.

But the fact still remains...you don't want to help them stop the clock AND they had been running relatively well all day at 4.2 YPC.

Again, some creativity would help in the running game, but you really can't blame them.

It's a damned if you do/don't.

And at 3rd and 2...that's a make-able rush. Line just needed to get more push.

I do not have a problem with the running game, but if they had planned on running theball 3 straight times to try and force NE to call time outs with that much time left on the clock, they should have been a little more creative in the play selection from the outset, not just run up the middle with BJGE 3 straight times where they were stacking.

That was the biggest problem I had. Once they put themselves in a hole by not getting the 1st down in the first two attempts, they should have attempted to get that first down to limit NE with the way the offense had been playing the last two weeks.
