It'd be funny if monkey boy was the next Tom Brady, and Paxton was a back up...

Siemian definitely has an uphill battle here. He will day 1 be the 3rd string guy. That means a little more limited snaps compared to the other 2. So he is going to have to impress big time on limited reps to be given more. Honestly it would not surprise me with the team wanting to have a FB and their love of TE's to only keep 2 QB's on the roster and hope that Siemian can make the Practice Squad without anybody picking him up. Kind of like we did Dysert.

I'm going to disagree with you again Carl. Siemian will not be 3rd string from day 1 - that is not the Bronco way of doing things. As I recall as well - Sanchez was praising Seimian "coaching" him about the offense in the SoCal workouts. It may work out the way you have outlined - just taking exception to the "day 1" comment.

Agree. Just because of a couple comments from Elway regarding Lynch you get all these guys delegating Simian to 3rd on depth chart. What's the GM and coach supposed to say about Lynch? " Man the dude is further behind than we thought! " , " Damn! He's going to be a project! ". Come on. When's the last time you heard a coach throw negatives at a rookie? To put him ahead of Simian as the # 2 on day one is really premature at this point after the kid has had what, 2-3 days of rookie camp? Not saying he won't but I won't underestimate Simians chances or crown Lynch the job yet either. What say ya we watch these boys in real time action and then the speculation will have more validity.Just saying;) Poor Trevor. He's already getting dissed by a rookie project.:)

Siemian will be good and will prove to be a commodity that could be traded - if he doesn't by chance (injury maybe?) become the Broncos starter.

Well to me if they are wanting to speed up the learning curve of Lynch then they stick him as the #2 man because he would be getting at least some work with the #1 squad. Throw in at Camp the 3rd and 4th QB (if we bring one in) usually get about half the reps of the first two guys. I went to camp last year and Siemian being the 3rd guy got quite a few less snaps than Osweiler as the #2 guy. So I can't see the coaches wanting to get Lynch less snaps when they are hoping to speed along his development.

Now maybe because they only bring 3 QB's instead of 4 to Camp they start Lynch as the 3rd guy and just give him the reps the 4th guy would have gotten to even things out a bit. I just think they used a 1st round pick and are wanting to give him a shot at actually starting this year then you move him to #2 to give him as many reps as you possibly can.

Trevor was a 7th rounder (who was fortunate to be drafted) a year ago who has taken one NFL snap and taken a knee. Not sure why he is so deserving of any second team guarantee over a guy drafted this year in the first round who will be given every opportunity to be the QBOTF.

Good points. I guess I liked what the kid showed in preseason, albeit not vs top of the order, but he showed great poise and good arm strength, etc. Your right. He will get his reps taken away for the reasons you stated but STILL....don't be surprised if he earns the back up role if he's given a decent shot in preseason and even with less reps beats the rookie out who could very well struggle to grasp system better than Trevor.

He knows the offense and has waited his turn. The Broncos will give him his opportunity - as Kubiak sees himself in Trevor Siemian.

Ok SS. We get it. Paxton or " bust ". ;). I don't think you would be too disappointed if Lynch had the luxury of sitting out a year, getting a good grasp of how the big boys play while watching Sanchez and or Simian guide this team to a SB either, right?. To think Lynch is going to win job and pull that off is as probable as my scenario. Nothing wrong or unlikely either way my man.:)

I'd love nothing more than for Sanchez to do well. And I'd be more than fine if Lynch did do not much more than get a few reps in mop up roles.

My major concern is Mark's history of turnovers. If he can become the player he hasn't shown to be yet and limit those, wonderful. But I'm not holding my breath.

Elway has said that he believes young quarterbacks learn more by playing than watching - that combined with his comment that Paxton might be ready sooner than many people believe, leads me to believe that the leash won't be too long on Sanchez.

Yeah SS I think there's too many Bronco fans that are biting at the bit to see Lynch like you; that all Sanchez has to do is make one bad decision and they'll be calling for Lynch sooner than later. Unfortunate for Sanchez because he prob has a forgiveness rope as long as my wiener. Patience should be dealt to both players but that just isn't in fandom thoughts or many teams now days either. I think Elway is smart enough to know that throwing the kid in there even if the other qbs are struggling that it could still be detrimental to Paxtons development. This team won with pretty poor qb play before and the problems could be other areas if the team is losing and not solely the qb play. IMO,this team should win a lot of games based on the D,strong run game and decent level of qb play. If they have to throw Lynch in there early, that will prob mean trouble for Broncos.

Not sure I agree with everything, but that is a fantastic line!

All I'm calling out if Carl's hyperbole by saying Siemian will be 3rd in the rotation from day 1 - that's not how the Broncos operate - and you know it.

I do think this is how we will operate. I mean we are talking about a 1st round pick here compared to a 7th round pick. The Broncos are not going to get cute with this situation when I can about guarantee that Elway wants Paxton starting as soon as possible. I get the whole give the veteran the spot and make the rookie earn it but not like Siemian at this point has earned anything. He was a 3rd string QB last year that made some decent plays in the preseason against 3rd and 4th string guys who didn't make their team.

Honestly at this point I would say Paxton with more starting experience in college and actual success in college should have a leg up on a guy who got benched in college, had very few starts, and really only had a few nice games in the preseason.

Noted.

Siemian, however, knows the offense better than Sanchez or Lynch. We shall see.

I hope Sanchez can win the job like you say here for sure ... Not because he would not be good enough to win this year but I just want him to put in the time and work for it .. I don't like Rookie QB's playing they hold on to the ball way to long and then that is a bad habit to get rid of .. I want him to have all his plays available to him .. If you dumb down the play book you are helping the DC of Opposing teams ..

Now saying all that ... There is a reason Elway and Kubiak have said there is a chance is because Lynch has run this system his Freshmen year in Memphis .. That means he is a lot further ahead than most fans and pundit's want to give him .
