I think the Lions are set up to attack weakness of the Eagle defense. They got the weapons to attack that secondary.

I would absolutely take Tomlin over McCarthy for this team. It's not that I think he is necessarily a better coach, but the #1 thing this team needs is someone to be the HC and ignore the owner when it comes to everything that happens between the lines. The #2 thing this team needs is someone to once and for all get rid of the entitlement, the bull shit atmosphere that surrounds this team and instill discipline. Those two things are IMO things Tomlin would do. You think Zeke would miss meetings under Tomlin? So for most teams I would not want Tomlin, but for the Cowboys I take him in a second. Culture change needed

Absolutely he would ignore him because I'm sure Tomlin isn't coming here unless he knows he isn't listening to coach Jerry telling him who to play. Does he seem like a yes man like our last two hires? Thus my premise and point.

Now if you want to say Jerry won't hire Tomlin in the first place because of this I can't argue with you.

How badly did Jerry screw this up? By waiting so long, not only are BB and Vrabel off the market, but he has missed the window to speak with any assistant still in the playoffs until their season ends. I don't have a good feeling about where Jerry is going to turn

I'm not saying I expect a Tomlin type to be any more involved with player acquisition than any other coach. I'm talking about HC decisions. And when Jerry tried to make decisions Parcells didn't like, he quit, same as I suspect Tomlin would do and exactly what we need. There are a bunch of coaches around who aren't yes men and wouldn't take Jerry trying to get involved with who plays - BB, Campbell, Vrabel, Tomlin, Payton, etc. That's what this team needs. Again, I don't suspect Jerry would hire someone who won't bow down to him and do whatever he says like McCarthy seems to do, but that wasn't the topic, and like I said, I don't suspect Jerry would hire Tomlin for that reason any way
