Have fun with that
Things sometimes get worse before they get better. They would be smart to give Dak better weapons. I think they realize this. I think they end up drafting a Wideout is my prediction. Not what I would do.

I think it would be smarter to draft either Warren or Loveland in round 1 and then take a RB in round two. They need to hire Vrabel as new HC and Hire away one of those offensive assistants from the Ravens or Steelers and promote and become a smash mouth running team.

And yeah Skattebo is somebody they better consider in round 2. He got a fire going inside. A lot of heart and ability

i can see why:
Just not in Dallas, waste of time for Vrabel.

Jerry Jones
I think the luster coaching the Cowboys has been Jerried.
I don't know. He is just an average coach to me. He did nothing special in Tennesse. No one else has hired him as an HC since he was fired.

It was only one season since he was fired and he is working as a consultant for Cle.

In his second year with a team that no one thought would be any good he made it to the AFC Championship game. They beat a Brady led Patriots team, the Ravens and then lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. They made the playoffs two more times. These were not great Titans teams but they were tough and well coached IMO. I also always felt Vrabel was an excellent in game HC. How long has it been since we have had a team that wasn't on the softer side?

In that Patriots game he showed his intelligence by infamously finding a loophole in the NFL rules about running down the clock after a penalty and basically "Out Belichicked" Belichick. I'd fall over in my chair if our coaches ever thought of anything like that.

I think those are a lot of the things you get with Vrabel.

Articles are always written with a purpose so you can't assume they tell the whole story, but read this about his past year and tell me you don't think he is a guy that would be a great HC here or anywhere. My only issue is (like with Belichick) he isn't going to bow down to Jerry. That's a good thing of course and perhaps what is needed most from our next HC, but if Jerry expects this he will never hire him.

If you don't want to read a long story here are a couple of snippets:

Vrabel’s Titans were considered overachievers during his six seasons. Coaches and players point to an approach built around week-to-week adaptability and attention to the smallest details. There were “teach tape” meetings — a look at how penalties were called and mistakes were made by other teams — on Friday, and officiating-crew deep dives on Saturday. “He always would say going into games: I want you physically and mentally exhausted by the end of the week by how hard we worked in practice and how much we put into the game plan,” former Titans center Ben Jones said. “And I would be absolutely braindead by Sunday.”

Said cornerback Caleb Farley, a Titans first-round pick in 2021: “Something coach Vrabes taught me was it doesn’t matter what car you pull in on Sundays. It just matters if you’re gonna hit somebody in their mouth. Football is a grown man’s business. It’s a nasty business. There’s no room to be sensitive.”

“Anyone who asks me (about Vrabel), I would give this visual of him sprinting with the quarterbacks,” Berry said. “He’s doing it for the pure, unbridled joy of coaching football and teaching. I think that is unique and special.”

When tight end Blake Whiteheart was on the practice squad at the start of the season, he said Vrabel would meet him (and other practice squaders) at the facility on off-days to watch film. They’d work on things like run-blocking techniques too. “He’s the same person every single day,” Whiteheart said. “He’s gonna try to make you the best player you can be. You can tell that because of how much time he spends with everybody — like, he spends time with me, I’m undrafted and he sees value in that.”

He is an outstanding coach. That playoff success that he had going against Brady, Lamar and battling Mahomes, who was his QB? How bout Ryan Tannehill. His two losing seasons, Tannehill gets hurt and they go to Josh Dobbs, the next season they go to Will Levis. Give him Dak and let him toughen up the rest of the team

Ben Johnson, Mike Vrabel, Joe Brady or Brian Flores are all good candidates IMO. But that's not how Jerry roles. It will be either a return of Coach Mac(70%) or Kellen Moore(10%), Jon Gruden(10%) or Coach Prime(10%). Boot kissing and publicity before winning in Big D

I think Chauncey Golston, Jourdan Lewis and Rico Dowdle are all Commanders next season if we don't bring them back. Maybe a couple of more. DQ looks at the Cowboys as his one stop shopping center

I would of loved him here. I dont look at what he brings as DC or OC but as a leader of men & making sound HCing decisions. We can hire coordinators.
I really thought he was a shoe in to go to the Pats. Surprised they picked Mayo over him.

Thanks for the info. If the boys get Vrabel, I would be OK with it. I damn sure don't want McCarthy back.
