Will it be like Kobe requesting a trade and the team makes moves to win immediately or will the trade him away and start rebuilding?

Who can offer the most and still have a solid team to win with and who will he say its okay to go to?

Crazy if the Lakers pair him with Luka, but they have nothing to trade away.

Houston or San Antonio makes the most sense.

Brooklyn can offer a lot of draft capital but Giannis will want to contend on his new team so they aren't that realistic IMO.

The problem is, they don't have enough draft capital or tradeable assets to really do much to improve what he has around him. Especially with Dame out for the year.

With their picks and roster depth and young talent, OKC could put together a really nice package, but I doubt they'd be very interested given what they've been doing with this group. Utah could put together a good package. San Antonio and Houston probably could as well.

The Lakers can put together a solid trade package with AR, Rui, another player, a 1st and a pick swap, but that ain't solid enough to get Giannis.

I would say it is ridiculous to include them because they dont have enough ammo.

But time and time again teams have traded away way too much for way too little from the Lakers for me to keep saying it.

I agree. But they will be included anyway.

They don't have as many of those "lopsided trades" as people claim.

But they have had some fortunate breaks. Like getting the draft picks that became Magic Johnson and James Worthy which were under rules that no longer exist.

A lot of people like to use the trade for Pau Gasol...but they forget that part of that trade was for his brother Marc Gasol who I hear turned out to be pretty good.

Having said that...even Lakers fans are still trying to figure out how the Luka trade happened. So yeah, I guess you can't completely them out. lol

SA now has the #2 pick, #14 pick from ATL and ATL '27. Add in their 2027. Castle, Johnson or Vassell to throw in there. That is a tough package to beat.

Houston has the #10 pick, BKN '27, PHX '27. They can also add in a '29 pick that could be very valuable. Add in a combination of Eason, Smith Jr, Sheppard, Whitmore and the centerpiece of Jalen Green.

It will all depend on Jalen Green. If MIL is not a big fan, he will likely be the main player included in this trade. I think Houston has overall the better picks but then SA has the #2 this year and I think the best possible future player in this deal with Castle.

Giannis won't finish his career in Mil. A trade might not happen this Summer because by all accounts, Giannis is a pretty loyal guy so I could see him thinking he should give the Bucks another chance but will end up realize during the season next year its not gonna work out. There's just not a lot of moves they can make to build a contender around him for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, Giannis and the Bucks are in a very difficult spot. As long as they have Giannis, they'll never be bad enough to get into the lottery...but they also aren't going to have the cap space or trade capital to be contenders.

Sooner or later, one or the other is going to need to take an honest assessment of the situation. Or maybe he'll take the Reggie Miller approach and just be happy to play a long time for the same team and be happy with his one title (Reggie never even got one title).

I don’t think SA would need to include Castle honestly.

At least they shouldn’t have to.

#2 pick in this draft is a monster asset

The only way I see him going to the Lakers is if Giannis says "Only LA or I walk in 2028", which is very unlikely.
