He doesn't stand a chance above A ball. He could probably cut it defensively, but he'd have to be Endy Chavez or Peter Bourjos level good defensively to have a prayer at the bigs. I don't know that he's that kind of player.Independent league teams will line up for the guy because he'd be great for selling tickets. But just like his ego won't let him play arena ball or in Canada, he probably won't "lower" himself to an independent. He's a heck of an athlete and was very good in High School baseball, but I can't see him doing anything but maybe A ball.
I agree about the hitting. But don't sell short the difficulty of playing defense. He throws left so he's limited to 1B/OF. Fielding ground balls isn't for everyone. And tracking a flyball hit by a professional isn't easy either. There's so many basic skills of baseball that have to be learned by repetition, it takes years. He doesn't stand a chance above A ball. The jump in live pitching is staggering. He probably faced three or four kids, tops, who could even come remotely close to locating a breaking pitch the last time he stepped in the box in a game that counted. Michael Jordan's year in AA is his ceiling.
That is one very long swing. Looks like a lot of strikeouts to me. Mind you as strong as he is, if he runs into one he can probably hit it a mile.
Tracking fly balls isn't easy by any means, but it isn't something you flat out forget. It's probably the easiest skill to pick back up. Angels in the Outfield 3?
The Dodgers will sign him to a 7 year, 35M contract.
He will be DFA'd before the end of the 2017 season.
I think the Giants will sign him to a 7 year, 126M contract to be a relief pitcher.
That would take the attention away from the putrid contract but it wouldn't make it any less idioticAnd then go out and win 2 more championships with him.

Giants paid Barry Zito 119M. He appeared in 175 games (1139 IP) and collected 2 rings.
Dodgers paid Jason Schmidt 46M. He appeared in 10 games (43 IP) and was a part of every World Series team the Dodgers have put together since the late 80s.
Dodgers paid Brian Wilson 19.5M. He appeared in 79 games and 62 IP. He blow up at the Giants president during a game, though, so there is that.
Dodgers paid Alex Guerrero 25.5M. He had 243 AB and posted an OPS of .665.
You decide who has a worse track record of blow-up contracts.
Who's going to knock you out in the NLDS this year?I can't hear you over the sound of the Dodgers running away with the division.
