Baylor lost to Liberty.
They are staring at a horrific season of epic porportions.

Everyone else has at least a shot to salvage something out of the season.
Did anyone really think Baylor would be worth a shit for a few years?

Rhule may have a few players left but he is really starting from scratch. They'll take their lumps for a while. If he doesn't get it going in 3 recruting classes, then I'll jump on him and Mack Rhoades at that time.

And for the life of me I don't understand why Matt Rhule chose the Baylor job considering he had a lot of other offers. I figure he LOVES a challenge.

Is 2017 the year of the choke?

After the Super Bowl, and this game, I'd be nervous if my team had a big lead.

-Pats comeback against the Falcons
-Clemson comeback against Bama
-Cubs comeback against the Tribe 3-1
-Cavs came back against GS down 3-1

we've seen some good choke's in 2016-2017

Goddamn. I cant believe I missed a 35 point comeback last night

Most of us missed all but the end because everyone switched over or was already watching the VT vs WVU game.

OU, UT, TCU, LSU, OSU, BAMA, BAYLOR, OLE MISS all have coaches with near 100% job security because of long term winning or a 1st year coach usually given at least 3-5 years minimum.

Only Arky or TTU might have less job security.

I've watched those offenses play and they can slow the temp down when needed. I also see our QB taking snaps with 20 seconds on the play clock almost every play. Slow down, huddle, or just stand there. Snap the ball with 1-2 seconds left and UCLA wouldn't have had the last two drives.

The other issue is play calling. Two RB's averaging 7-8 yards per carry and in the second half there were several three-and-outs when the running game was still working. Run for 5, run for 4, pass for 0, punt. Pass for 0, pass for 0, run for 8, punt. Pass for 0, run for 7, pass for 0 + sack for loss, punt. Put the defense right back out there.
Those aren't spread specific issues. Those are A&M specific issues. Tempo is a choice and can be run in any system. Pats use spread and tempo all the time. Spread is here to stay. Tempo is here to stay. It's a great tool, but you need to know when to use a hammer and when to use a mallet.

Not enough people died for them to be worth of a vote.

I didn't vote for them because I thought it was best to consider football only. What happened to them isn't really comparable to me.

a lot of our problems have to do with coaching and the scheme. We can "3rd and Chavis" all we want but when your offense is only on the field for two minutes at a time your defense is going to be gassed, especially in the secondary. That has been A&M's problem since Sumlin took over. The first couple of seasons our offense would just out score everyone, the defense would get gassed and give up a lot of points in the second half. Spread teams work well in HS and lower-tiered College but not so much on the highest level for that very reason. Even great defenses will wear out in the fourth quarter when the other side has TOP advantage.
Ohio State and Clemson both ran the spread when they won

I say Texas be cause they had the most hype coming into this season and lost to Maryland after a crazy game. A home opener ruined by Maryland.
A&M comes close by blowing a 34 points lead, but at this point it's about par for Chavis and Sumlin. Also not in front of all their fans.

Texas school will rebound but it may be a long year. Will that young coach at Texas Tech step up? or is it another 4 win season?

I would say Texas also, there was so,so much hype.

I read these posts and I realize why I differ with folks about the CFB regular season.

Most everybody says, it is the best regular season in all of sports.

How can any season that is only ONE WEEK LONG, be that special?

Exactly. That's a Sumlin philosophy. Keep your foot on the gas. Smart coaches know when to slow the game down and keep the hot QB on the sideline. Up 3-4 scores late in the third is a prefect time to slow down and turn Rosen into a spectator. I've watched us blow a lot of leads since Sumlin has been doing the opposite

Also dont like the constant switching quarterbacks. Get your offense behind one guy unless he is injured. Mond and Starkel are both young but at least Starkel was completing passes. The team seemed flat after switching to Mond then back to Starkel.

OK, 1 of 8......I guess we can surmise everyone else that voted Texas are aggy fans

No amount of hype of a 5 win team out paces the second largest choke job in the history of NCAA football

I'd like to thank A&M for taking the Texas loss out of the headlines. We can always thank Aggy for screwing up bigger than everyone else!

Someone mentioned they switched kickers also and the new guy missed. I didn't see it, but that is an interesting call

Hate to agree with you. Even of we choked on a Saturday we would have stolen the headlines from you guys.
