I see both sides of the argument here. People would have been pissed regardless.. But you are right, the Falcons did have the Patriots on their heels that drive (and for 99.99% of the game) and failed.

How are people pissed if Atl goes up by 11 with 2 minutes left to play and the Pats have no timeouts?

I know it's a promotion, but I don't know how Shanahan leaves for the SF job after this shit show.

"Sorry fellas... Good luck, I'm outta here!"

IF they had FAILED to get a FG after running... That's what I was saying

Sure he could of missed the FG but running was the only risk free play.

Well....

That's twice in recent Super Bowls the great Dan Quinn's defense has been shredded and run over ROUGHSHOD by Tom Brady.

Those last 20 or so minutes are Tom Time. Quinn has blown it twice.

And the go for the throat mentality that rmilia was so proud of? Bit them right in the ass.........

That was fucking beautiful.

There is always a risk... Less risky of course but anything could happen.

1st and 10 from the Pats 22 yard line, up 8 with 3 minutes to go... 3 run play's take your shot at a field goal, WHY even consider passing there ? This is where a coach needs to dig up his inner Chuck Knox and RUN THE FOOTBALL!!!

I rather lose by TRYING to go up by 11 points then the way the Falcons lost.

Even if they missed the FG its the RIGHT way to play the game.

I agree. If he runs the ball, takes off as much clock as possible, regardless of whether they miss the FG or make it you can't question the decision. Its a percentages play. The fact is, they overthought it.

The media should be hamming Kyle. Worst play called Superbowl in NFL history.

He was getting hammered on the way in on sportstalk radio and those are the homer guys...It's only going to get worst as the day goes on...rightfully so....even with a new gig in SF, that's going to stick with him for awhile.

Why Parcells did the same thing after the GB/NE SB loss and taking Belichick with him to the Jets

It should stay with him for the rest of this life. The only way he buries this is if he wins a Super Bowl. That's how serious this is.
