So...what would happen if we traded Case Keenum for Joe Flacco?

Come on-guys! Where's your sense of humor? - Of course, Flacco - to go with Fangio, Scangarello, Donetell and Azzani (and the guy from Ukraine).

Hell, now I want a bowl spaghetti and a whole loaf of garlic bread and meatballs!!! lots of meatballs...

Just saw a little blurb that ranked the top for QB's this year on play-action.

1. Rivers 96.1
2. Brady 91.7
3. Luck 91.2
4. Keenum 90.6

Guess which OC ran the fewest play action plays? Yep, Musgrave.

Interesting, no?

i'm trying to stay positive and think that once you're in a good place, the road traveled shouldn;t matter

I'm ecstatic about Fangio/Donatell/Munchak/Scangarello/Kuper/McMahon/Kollar and the #10 pick

Thanks Bill Musgrave

My question would be when Denver did run play action what was the "mean" yards in the air the ball traveled? Play action is all about taking a shot down the field.

Be interesting to see what the "mean " yards per completion was on play action. If its the same for Brady and Rivers and Keenum then yes Musgrave did not call enough. If Musgrave called play action and Keenum would not pull the trigger downfield that is on Keenum.

Play action means what you want it to mean... Meaning, it can be designed with routes to run behind the linebackers but inside safeties. Or can be to run behind the safeties, or both. You can use it in whatever manner you see fit, based on what the defense is playing. Shanny used to do this all the time, and Elway or even Jake would simply throw to whatever the defense wasn't defending.

Not sure what having the mean would do either, since that relies on YAC, defenses played against, and skill of the receiver.

Plus, I don't see the logic in throwing deep off play action, when the rest of your offense (thanks Bill) seems predicated on the deep pass. With how close a rb is to the qb on a play action call, there's not enough time to let the receiver get deep.

Just pointing out we don't need to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

There should not be a panic to replace Keenum in 2019 ..

You would think these many years, Flacco could handle the whole field and the newest Version of the west coast O.

But I think he will not be good for what Vic wants

I agree Keenum is good enough barely to win an SB.

If we can improve on the Running Game just a bit.

and get the pass rush from hell going again. We need a huge push up the middle. I wonder what it would cost to resign Jackson

Lucas IMO we should wait till Tua Tagovailoa or Trevor Lawrence type of players IMO and limp on. it will happen.

The biggest key to Keenum will be Scagarello having the game plan that utilizes what we he have. If we can score 14-17 points in the 1st half next year that will be night and day different as long as the second half remains effective.

So...what if we traded a 4th round pick for Flacco and got stuck with Keenum as well?

The Bronco's a shopping Keenum - he will only cost the next team $7 million - that ought to be worth something on the open market.

Broncos would flat out cut him before being stuck with Keenum. Hurts the cap a little more but there is no way the Broncs keep both Flacco and Keenum.

After some consideration - here's what Flacco brings that Keenum does not - Flacco can stretch the field vertically - you just have to cover more ground with Flacco's arm. The deep threat makes the running game more dangerous. Even with similar stats - Flacco is a better fit than Keenum for that reason. Now throw in playoff and Super Bowl experience - and it makes sense.

The Broncos will draft a QB by the end of day 2 - I'd say - someone like Jones who might drop - or someone - Scangarello likes.

The cap hit is still $10MM . If they trade him they can offset the cash they need to pay out to Keenum. Didn't take long for teh new Denver coaches to realize what Vikings realized.
Now Elway could fall back into the same trap and take another year to realize what Baltimore realized unless of course Denver can come up with a QBOTF in this draft. Lets' hope so.

I'd like to see Will Grier top of the 2nd.

If they can trade Keenum then the cap hit is almost identical as that of us keeping Keenum. It is $21.5 million total with Flacco and $21 million if we just keep Keenum right now. So if they can get anything in a trade even a 7th round pick it would be worth it for the extra cap space.

So...what if we traded a 4th round pick for Flacco and traded away Keenum while unloading much of his contract?
