No big deals for the Dodgers. Smart IMO because there was no really BIG fish to be had that would have dramatically improved this club. I think the only thing we need to strengthen is the bullpen and if Marmol and Wilson remember how dominent they were not too long ago, it could be strong.

I am hopeful and excited for the rest of 2013 and beyond.

We have a young core of players that are going to lead this team going forward
(Kershaw,Kemp,Puig,AJ Ellis,Jansen,Greinke,Ryu)

We have a solid group of veteran players who can lead
(A Gone,Ethier,Crawford,Han Ram) Yes I know, Han Ram is only under contract thru 2014. Honestly I hope we resign him if the price is not too steep.

We have a TON of farmhands that will be ready within the next year or 2
(Lee,Gordon,Pederson,Seager,Reed,Schebler,Baldwin,Castellanos,Garcia)

We have the money to finally lure a big name free agent or two that would put us over the hump
(Robbie Cano, Votto, Adam Jones, Jacoby Ellsbury)

All this adds up to the Dodgers being relevant again for years to come.
Ok, let's finish this and make the run a lot of people thought we would this year!!

Stand pat? What, no love for a backup to the backup catcher, Drew Butera?

BTW, as I have not seen or heard much from you lately, I just wanted to make sure you knew I was bigdmgr on CBS.

With Ian Kennedy and Carlos Quentin now on the same team, the next series with the Padres could be interesting.

Sadly, the highlight of the Padres' season might just end up being beating the shit out of the Dodgers and helping to keep them out of the playoffs.

I remember back in the 1980's, this wsa always the Giants claim. It even worked for them a time or two (Damn you Joe Morgan & Brian Johnson!!!)

Interesting point, Old.

I agree with KSU. Dodgers were smart not to give up good prospects for anyone that was available. While I don't expect Marmol or Wilson to contribute much, if anything, to the Dodgers I sure hope they regain their prior form and do a great job.

Dodgers may be active in August prior to the waiver trade deadline. Time will tell.

Agreed as I did not want an old Utley and Cliff Lee for the farm as others had proposed to me. I want to see what we have with Pederson and Zach Lee.
