What I make of that is Weeden not having time to get into his own head, the Eagles not having time to adjust to a different QB, and the Eagles already being beat down in the first half and not giving their all.

I hope what we saw last night is what we get from Weeden, but gameplanning for a QB helps a lot. It's part of why backup QB's that get announced late have been Dallas' achilles recently. I blame it on coaching the team up for each QB.
Yea. I saw the same thing last year. When Palmer went down, Stanton came in and looked like a stud in the same game. After that, he was mediocre at best.

Which is exactly why I don't think Washington gets it done if Romo is only out 6 games. If Romo is out 8-10 games, It becomes a bit more interesting. The Cowboys looked abysmal with Weeden in there last year, but he actually looked great against the Eagles. I'm not quite sure what to make of that.
Weeden played in two games last year. One he looked very good on just a few series and one he looked very poor against a good AZ defense and yet still had us in the game until it got away late. Sounds OK for a backup QB. He isn't Tony Romo and he sure isn't Aaron Rodgers, but he only has to be good enough to keep the season going. I think he has a good first matchup at home against Atl. If we can win and get to 3-0 that will be a good sign. We aren't going to be 10-0 when Romo comes back, but we don't have to. I think we can be 7-3 if things break our way, but even 5-5 would be good enough to keep the ship going in the right direction and I don't see any way that is an overly optimistic projection. NFL season is about making the playoffs. Then it becomes one game at a time. The goal now is just make the playoffs and try to be as healthy for them as an NFL team can be...

Sheesh, not looking forward to how bad Weeden is gonna do if he isn't in fact better than Cousins and is <60 passer rating.

I thought they where but after last night's loss and Dallas signing Cassel I can't see it happening.

This division is wide open. Dallas has the 2-0 start but it loses some punch with Romo out the next 7 games. Philly has looked awful but you gotta think at some point they'll have something resembling an offense and pick it up a little bit. Giants have the most proven QB. Skins are probably still the slow runner here but not by much. Anyone could win this.

NFCE is historically and mathematically a good bet to represent the NFC in the super bowl. That's just the way it is.
Without living too far in the past, I disagree with your opinion.
Since the new millennium representation for the NFC in the SB is:
NFCN: 2 times
NFCS: 3 times
NFCE: 4 times
NFCW: 7 times

Super Bowl era is Super Bowl era. NFCE is still top dog and will likely stay that way for a lonnng time.

Is that a fancy way of saying: what if we use this many years how does it come out?
Or is 16 the universal number for 'not living too far in the past':rolleyes2:

But yes, recently the NFC West has been strongest

It's been quite a while since the NFCE was a good division. Think we can all agree with that.

Not sure what it has to do with the topic at hand though.

I pointed out that it's the most successful division. I think we can all agree with that.

Over the history of the sport, yeah I would agree with that.

But we also should be able to agree that over the last 5 years they probably are one of the worst divisions in football and, now with the Cowboys banged up, are almost certain to be a bottom 2 division at least this year.

They almost certainly won't be as god awful as last year's NFCS teams....but this really has the looks of one of the worst divisions in football over the last decade or so right now.

The AFCE right now is laughing their butts off knowing they play the NFCE and the AFCS this year.

The timeline is SB era. They are, without a doubt or shred of conflicting evidence, the best division in pro football.

NFCN: 2 times --1 win
NFCS: 3 times --2 win
NFCE: 3 times--- 2 wins

fixed it:suds: looks like the west sucks at representation

And this has zero to do with the thread topic.

I don't know about all that. You assume a lot after two weeks of play.

sure it does. Washington happens to be in the NFCE and this thread is about both. You realize the Redskins, Cowboys, Eagles and Giants are all in the same division, right?
