that guys like Rollins, Utley, Howard, Brown, are all going to magically start hitting? They can't even hit minor league pitchers right now

Comical, this offense has looked like one gigantic turd so far with the exception of Ruiz, Byrd, and Ruf

Of course not. Everyone knows that the first 10 Spring Training games are the best way to evaluate the future success or failure of the players. Based on their performances so far I would expect Utley,Rollins,Howard and Brown all to hit around .130 this year.

Ditto. I touched on this is another thread, but what it's really going to come down to is RISP. The Phillies as a team are hitting .100 in those situations. I don't care how high our hitter's OBP is, if they can't drive runners in (which they clearly cannot) then this team is doomed.

Too early to judge the season based on 10 days of ST.

That's crazy. I expected a regression from St. Louis, but Atlanta and Boston? The Red Sox were in the World Series last year! It's crazy how team's success can change so much from year to year.

These aren't the "real teams". Look at all the fodder, warm bodies that were in for the Phillies before they were shipped down a few days ago. Then there's 1 or 2 more rounds of weeding for Sandberg to do.

So I'm just supposed to expect the Red Sox to just turn on some sort of "switch" when the season starts?
:bullshit:

John Mayberry is batting .389.

Based on this thread, BPNAZ has Mayberry penciled in to win the batting title.
