OK so now we get to see Cousins, with full team reps, no distractions in the locker room. And he isnt going in with a team on auto pilot just trying to get the season over with. If cousins wins 5-6 out of the next eight, I dont think we see Rg3 on the field again unless Kirk struggles.

If Cousins goes 6 of the next 8 far as W/L go. We shouldn't see Griff at all this year even if he's cleared to play unless Cuz gets injured.

This is Cousins chance... If RGIII comes back this season at all it will be December. The season will rise and fall on KC's right arm now. We'll find out if both he, and Gruden, are the real deal or not.

Any long term decision about RGIII vs KC will come in the offseason.

I agree with that kicksavedave. With a weak division and now a true pocket passer we have a great chance to win the division.

That's terrible but it is funny in a warped way. Poor guy didn't even get hit. For two years the question has been is he durable enough to take a hit and he dislocates his ankle running, no contact. He was hurt on the hit by Ngata but re-injured himself on a play where he planted on a rollout against Seattle. Then his leg completely went on a non-contact play. Unfortunately durability does not seem to be on Griffins side.

Anyone who has played sports wouldn't route for injury to a player. I especially feel for a guy who has just become healthy again to go down again so soon.

Mike Wise, who I consider a grade A hack, says that his secret unnamed sources told him that Gruden felt RGIII wasn't going to get it and that Cuz was the better QB to run his offense, but he knew he couldn't make the change without massive uproar from Redskin Nation (the fanbase, not the one poster :) )

Now he doesn't have to worry about that and he can supposedly run his offense the way he wants to.

Not saying I buy it, but the conspiracy is out there to read if you wanna.

Jay Gruden couldn?t admit that Kirk Cousins was better running his offense than RGIII - The Washington Post

Even if he wanted to experiment with Cousins as the starter, it was going to come at such a high price for Gruden, a price including a fractured fan base, the angst of an owner banking on Griffin to be his meal ticket for a decade or more and, of course, alienating Griffin, who was rehabbing an image while simultaneously learning to play effectively in a pro-set offense before he went down

I wanted to confirm those sentiments with a few more people either inside the organization or on the near periphery before writing it. But when Griffin went down in a heap, it just felt like piling on at a bad time.

Then I walked in the post-game locker room. Back-slaps. Everybody cutting up. A very jubilant scene, really.

“You ever see a post-game locker room this happy after the face of the franchise and the No. 1 free agent in the offseason went down?” I asked a longtime team employee.

“No,” he said, adding he’d rather not elaborate.

Of course Mike, that could just be a franchise ending a 9 game losing streak.

Well, if wise wrote it you can bet it wasn't based on any actual reporting or facts. He doesn't believe in using facts when he writes. They tend to get in the way.

I tend to agree, but the fact is that what he said was what a LOT of fans have been thinking or saying, even here on these boards. He's just attaching it to Gruden... it could be baloney but it also seems like a lot of people are thinking it... soo........?

1) Where did you get this pic?

2) It is so wrong.

3) It definitely made me laugh, even though I acknowledge it is sooo wrong.
a twitter page called men's thoughts tweeted it. yeah i figured we arent an overly sensitive group here that would make a big deal about it so it seemed safe to post here.

KSD... you know IM real critical of RG3. But I did NOT want to see him injured. I dont think Gruden had any second thoughts about who his QB should be going into the season. Me Joe T. and the guys down at the Brass rail can all speculate that Cousins would have won the job, and had they made it an open comp, I think he would have. But Wise throwing this out there now is Bullshit. The whole article was designed and posted to stir up discontent in the locker room. Hopefully Gruden, Kirk and most importantly Robert and Dan will just ignore this.

While I think Kirk MIGHT give us the best chance to win this year, IM actually hoping to see Griffin healthy at some point and we go into NEXT season with the conundrum of.. ."Well fuck it which QB do we start??" As weird as it sounds, a few weeks working on his pocket awareness away from the cameras MIGHT but what Rg3 needs.

Mike Wise, who I consider a grade A hackt

while mike might be on an island supporting the name change ... & is deff from the mindset of media which believes that if it bleeds it leads & is practically the jerry springer of sensationalist sports journalism ...

there is no disputing his writing credentials ... his nba stuff used to be really good.
