Calling him a grade A hack is an insult to all the real grade A hacks out there. He is the worst sports "reporter" I've ever read. If he ever did good work, it must have been years ago.

I noticed before rg3 got carted off the team did not seen to be rallied around him. The team seemed more concerned when Derrel young was injured, more players hovering around.

And again, at this point I still don't have pity for rg3 or his deteriorating image. He is reeling what he sewed. If he had been coach able and had not set himself above the team lots of these bad things would not be happening to him.

you make me chuckle ...

but seriously you guys have no empathy for the "evil" journalists ...

local & nationals papers have been going broke for almost 2 decades.

Hopefully they'll start learning how to make money using the interwebs & stop depending on the sensationalism to sell their papers.

remember when they printed morning & evening papers ?

Krush, in all seriousness, I had the Post delivered to my house for 30 years and read it daily. Wise is one of the main reasons why I cancelled my subscription. The Post is going out of business. One of the reasons is they got away from what they used to do well, report. Now they are rumor mongers (see above) bloggers and "moral" crusaders. They don't do in-depth reporting anymore so they are losing subscribers, like me, daily. Compound this with the changing industry from print to online and it will eventually drive them out of business. And most won't even care.

 I heard J Reid on the radio Friday. I know 12 year olds in the Boys Club that know more about football.

i've lived in places like Nashville, TN who have no local papers and lucky to keep one big paper afloat ...

we're just spoiled in DC with a plethora of print & online outlets to give us different views & options.

i still believe the media serves a purpose ... they provide the checks and balances society depends on.

just ask ask a russian how their free press is working for them.

I wouldn't doubt if Wise is being truthful on this one. KC is a lot like Andy Dalton.

We all know that RG3 was given this position by his draft position and popularity...that was fleeting.

What a strange feeling that game was, it's still a strange feeling. Those of you thinking I was rooting against Cousins or whatever would be wrong, I was thrilled at his success. But it remained a bitter sweet day. I am sadly coming to realize that RGIII, like Jordan Reed, may never be a guy we can count on. I find it ironic that he got hurt making such a spectacular play. He came out playing great and I have little doubt the team would have had similar success had he remained in the game. That was a catch to DJax damnit!

But it's Kirk time and the early results were great. He had a fantastic game and that's sure encouraging. The entire team played well but especially the lines. The pass protection was tremendous from the opening play and both QBs benefited big time. Our WR depth was on full display, not sure when DJax will return but he sure hasn't given them much to date. Hatcher is another story, may be the best FA signing since London Fletcher.

Where you at the game to see this? Because the shots TV provided had nothing but doctors and trainers scrambling around him, there was no way for the players to "rally around him".

I agree that the press should play an important role in a free society, but only if they are objective. The Post is no longer that way. I'm not just talking about the OpEd section, but the entire paper, even into the Sports section (i.e., Mike Wise and the Redskins), has an agenda. The Post has always leaned to one side, but for many years they still maintained objective reporting wether it hurt their leanings or not. I need a press that will accurately report what has happened, not skew the story so that they try and influence my thinking on why something happened and how I should feel about it.

Oh, BTW, I feel the same way about Fox News. Most of their programming is trash and political posturing (as is MSNBC and a few others). I don't take my news from them, either.

Agreed. Between Wise and Jason Reed it's almost impossible for me to read the sports section without getting enraged.

Man, I hope Cousins kills it...not a big fan of Bob Griffin.

I'm really going to enjoy myself here as I see poster after poster pretty much celebrating this horrible injury.

Don't sweat it. That is their problem & just reflects very poorly on them. Nobody should ever wish for an injury for any NFL player & certainly not for a player on their team. Even though it is lame I can see a fan of a rival thinking this way, but it is truly awful for a fan of the Redskins to think this way (in my book they are a terrible fan).

while mike might be on an island supporting the name change ... & is deff from the mindset of media which believes that if it bleeds it leads & is practically the jerry springer of sensationalist sports journalism ...

there is no disputing his writing credentials ... his nba stuff used to be really good.

Good - then why doesn't he go back to simply covering the NBA? Reminds me of Stephen A Smith. He really knows the NBA & does an excellent job sorting out different issues in that league (when he is not yelling or acting like a fool). However - when he tries to explain things in the NFL he basically embarrasses himself.

Why do these guys always have to act like they are experts at everything & why do they always have to over hype everything? In general - the overall media is a complete embarrassment at this time.

I see people questioning whether or not we should cheer when a player is hurt.

Did you ever want to see Mike Vick or Ray Lewis' career ended?

I am not likening RG3 to them; however, you blanket statement is ignorant in and of itself. I always wanted to see Tom Brady get hurt...at least after his 2007 season.

I can honestly say never did I root for either to be injured.
