...that a hockey game won Best Game at the ESPY's? Yes, it's the ESPYs and they mean nothing, but still surprising that a hockey game beat out other sports.

I didn't watch the ESPYs or even check to see who won anything, but that is pretty cool. I am surprised they didn't rig the voting (if there is any) to change the winner.

Oh, I guess I should say for whoever didn't see (not that I watched them), the gold medal game won Best Game. Not sure what else was nominated.

I dont care when ESPN ignores hockey, so I dont really care when they mention it either. I really do think its a bush league network.

I like the ESPY nominees for male athlete of the year:

Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Jimmie Johnson, Albert Pujols, and Drew Brees were nominated. Brees won.

Let's see, two NBA basketball players (just pick one) and a NASCAR driver (don't get me started) over Crosby, Ovechkin, or how about the year Toews had (Olympic gold, Stanley Cup, and Conn Smythe winner).

Great job by the self-proclaimed worldwide leader in sports.

True, but I assumed these were voted on by the people? (could be wrong). Turns out it only beat a baseball game and a college basketball game, but still kind of neat.

the espys mean nothing to me ... i saw the steve carrell & paul rudd lebron mocking skit on youtube and thought that was good

anyone see that the MLB allstar game had lower ratings than the Captain Phil Deadliest Catch death episode ... pretty nuts ... baseball has definitely fallen of the radar

Is there an ESPY category for male entertainer of the year?

:D

Tiger gets the nod in that one.
Edit: oops, I feel stupid since that was directed at your quoted post.

Yes it has, unless the Yankees are playing the Red Socks. Maybe ESPN will start taking notice.
