I do think a lot of Laker fans here act like morons, that's my opinion.

I do think the Lakers will be down for a few to several years. That is also my opinion.
I didn't say suck. I just envision them as 5-8 seeds likely losing in round 1 or 2.

I never said you said they'd suck!! I said that you said they'd be down for the forseeable future, which you have. I get that it's your opinion, but it ignores that the Lakers are poised to do excactly what they Heat just did 3 seasons ago to get them where they are today!!

The Heat Haters thread also has you confused. Heat fans lie the Heat being hated, because that means they are winning. The issue we have is the denial of the reasons for the hate. It's pretty hard to make someone believe that you could hate a team for3 years because of a tv show, fan celebration and tattoos when your team is/was loaded with some of the biggest clowns/ thugs/ jerks of this decade in the NBA.

Who are you to try and tell others why they hate your team and/or put a time limit on that hate. You can try and claim whatever you want re: why someone hates your team, but it doesn't make those people in denial, it makes you an idiot for trying to tell someone else why they don't like your team rather than just accept what they say. Particularly when the reasons they give NEVER change!!

You see plenty of posters on this and other boards hating on the Lakers. But do you know what you never see? You never see Laker fans trying to tell those other fans why they hate the Lakers or claiming that they are denying the real reason why they hate the Lakers!!

Do you know why you don't see that? Because Laker fans don't care. We accept people hating our team and we like it because we know that if your hated, you're probably winning a lot of games!! You claim that you like the hate, but you want to try and tell others what the acceptable reasons are and/or tell them "it's time to get over it"!!


As far as the summer of 14' , who (and let's assume not James) are you signing that makes you contenders?

Why are we assuming not James? Any free agent is in play, I don't know who the Lakers will sign. What I do know is that it will be a very strong free agent class and that there will be few, in any, free agents that are unwilling to listen to what they offer!!

Until I see a Laker roster with actual names on it that makes me believe they are good enough to contend, you are just going to have to live with my opinion that they won't.

And I guess you'll just have to live with my opinion that they will. And guess whose opinion history (there's that word you don't like) sides with? *Hint: it's not yours!!

As far as posts/ threads. I comment on all sorts of topics, and the Lakers just happen to be a pretty popular topic.

1. Lakers 2000-2002 Best Center in league. Young Kobe. Best coach of all time. 15-1 playoff record. wow.

2. Heat 2012-2013. 3 finals in a row and counting. back to back. the thing that separates them from #3.. the 27 game win streak, a four time league MVP, and they could possibly beat their records, at worse tie them.

3. Lakers 2009-2010. back to back. 3 finals in a row.
4. Spurs 2003,2005,2007. 3 titles in 5 years. but never back to back, so I have to knock them down.
5. 2008 C's. Big 3. Good team over several years.
6. Heat 2006. talent wise could have competed with anyone. but fell apart in 07. Seemed like a team determined just to get one more title to prove something to kobe. yes, im looking at you shaq.
7. 2004 pistons. solid team. very overrated. never should have even been champs had kobe just let the offense run through shaq that series. ben wallace could not have stopped shaq if he got 15 fouls.

It is a fair question and my honest answer is that I dont know.
To break it down, year by year, you would have to know/ remember rosters, benches, injuries, coaching blunders, path to championship, etc... And I just don't have that stuff in my mind.

All championships are earned though. You don't win 16 playoff games by accident.

Spoles has changed the way basketball is being played right now with the small ball rage. Doc never had an effect on the game like this.

On the former- Mike Dantoni was the guy that started this small ball rage, everyone else just fell in line with it....and that's not even Laker homerism, because I've wanted Dantoni gone for quite some time now....but he started a revolution with the Suns.

On the latter- there isn't anyone that would take Spoelstra over Doc(didn't read the past pages so if this has already been discussed, disregard). Doc is just the better coach, I don't know of anyone that would refute that. Spoelstra is earning his stripes, but I'd take Doc anyday

left off the 2011 Mavs.. my bad. put them beneath 2006 heat. As I believe the 2006 heat were deeper and better. i still think the superstar mentality of Dirk is better than anything the Pistons could offer.

BK and I would refute that.

Spoles has a better winning % in the playoffs and regular season. Spoles has beaten Doc the last two times they met in the playoffs. Including down 3-2. Spoles has more rings.

Which metric can you give me that Doc is better? Because people on tv told you so?

You know how you know who the better coach is? Look at who did better when times were rough. As I said earlier Doc was a shitty coach until KG and Ray came while Spo was a decent coach with Wade and a bunch of role players.
