So, Howard tells Rockets he wants a 3rd superstar?

i'd lay even odds the Lakers of the turn of the Century would've whipped the Heat in 6, possibly 5(Shaq/Kobe years), 2009/10 teams I think could've done it too(might've had a small chance to go 7). Pistons of '04 were a VERY cohesive group, though not as talented. that would be possibly a 7 game series imo and might've gone either way. '08 Celtics? NO WAY IN HELL...

sorry, Turnip. YOU can believe the Heat are the greatest team in the universe if you'd like. no one else has to buy it...

2008 Celtics would lose to the Heat beat. Heck LBJ with the Cavs took them to 7 games that year. Rondo was not nearly as good as he is now. Wade and LBJ would of been hands down the best 2 players in the series.

k, and the Lakers of that season took 'em to 6 after a 58 win season, so what's your point...?

considering the depth of that season's Celtics team your weaknesses only would've been exposed MORE. sorry, but imo that a 6 game series AT MOST with the C's winning it. it is what it is...

I WAS being fair. think I couldn't have said worse...?

and I was only going off the teams that won it this century, at least...

dude... you give the 08 Celtics no chance. but give the kobe led lakers the win. those c's beat kobe and his lakers. and if it wasnt for a kendrick perkins injury would have taken two from kobe and the lakers. but hey.. whatever.

cant actually play the games.

the 04 pistons would get destroyed by Miami... they won a weak east and then took out the Lakers because Kobe ruined the lakers that finals.

????????????????

the '08 Celtics I said would've whipped this Heat team no problem. where did I say they had "no chance"...?

as far as the C's and Lakers WAY too many folks seem to "forget" that Andrew Bynum was hurt that series, too. nice try...

wow, talk about selling a team SHORT. didn't the Heat just get through a "weak east"? sorry, but imo I think those guys were better than you give them credit for...

just sayin'...

You are confusing me with others.
When did I say those things about the Lakers?

I believe my quote from a couple days ago was "most storied franchise ever".
I did say before last season that I thought they wouldn't be near as good as most predicted, but only a fool would think they won't be back.

I do think it might be a bit longer then many Laker fans think, especially if Howard leaves, because if he does, he is setting a precedent that we have never seen before. A top FA center shunning the Lakers because he feels the Mavs, Rockets or Warriors have a better 5 year window to win championships. New ground for sure.

You have called the Laker fanbase morons on multiple occasions and you have said that they will be down for quite some time.

You accuse CL of posting only about the Heat and/or James, yet you post just as much, if not more about the Lakers than he does about the Heat!! You start more threads about the Lakers than most Laker fans. And how much time have you spent on the Heat haters threads, both here and at cbs trying to tell people to get over their hate?

And you acknowledging that they are the most storied franchise ever (although Celtic fans would likely disagree) has nothing to do with you calling their fanbase morons and claiming that they will be down for awhile!!

As for the Lakers prospects for the future? Whether Dwight re-signs or not, the fact is that in the summer of 2014, the Lakers will have only Nash's contract on the books (and Dwights' if he re-signs) and as Mitch Kupchak said: "an enormous amount of financial flexibility"!! Does this not sound a lot like what the Heat had just 3 seasons ago!!

Do you honestly think that a "destination franchise" like the Lakers, that will have a ton of cap space available, will really have any more trouble getting top talent to come take their money, than Heat had getting them to take theirs?

Where did I ever try put any type or ranking on them?
I never have and really don't care. They gave me championship entertainment and that is all I care about.
What I did do was question what I feel us an asinine post of someone sayings they aren't top 30 when I can pretty much guarantee you that there aren't 30 teams in the history of the NBA who had better seasons then this years Heat team did.

Your opinions when it comes to the Heat really should be taken with less then a grain of salt.

Lets remember, you picked them to lose to the frickin' Bucks this year as well as every one of the 12 playoff series they have played the last 3 seasons.

That makes you 1/12 or just over 8%. Nice work!

The Heat are a top defensive team while the Lakers that year was a crappy defensive team so I could careless that the 2008 Celtics beat a shitty Lakers defensive team in 6 games. LBJ and a bunch of role players took those same Celtics to 7 games. So a LBJ team with Wade and Bosh along with a few good role players wouldn't be able to beat the Celtics in a series?

The Celtics bench wasn't that good as you're making it seem. I can make a case that the 2013 Heat had a better bench.

Their main bench guys were PJ Brown, James Posey, House, Powe, and Cassell.

That IMO is not better than Battier, Allen, Bird, Miller, and Cole.

The benches were probably equal.

As I have said before: I hated Larry Bird and I hated MJ!! But I still appreciate what great players they were and consider myself fortunate to have seen them play!!

They just played for the wrong damn teams!!

You actually believe that? The guy for months sported an avatar of LeBron picking his nose (playing with himself) for God's sake...

And I'm not honest??? Is that why I included LeBron in my Top 10 in the Top 15 all-time thread??? Call me whatever you want - stalker, hater, troll (LOL), whatever. But don't you ever call me dishonest.

I like how folks remember Perkins injury when they want to discredit the Lakers, but forget about Bynum and Ariza!!

The East was awful in 2004. Just look at the standings. It was Indiana/Detroit and a bunch of crappy teams. The 4th seeded team which was Miami had a 42-40 record while the 5th and 6th seeded teams were .500 and the 7th and 8th seeds finished below .500

Compare that to this year positions 1-8 this year had a much better W/L record than those teams did in 2004.

i'd give the C's bench of that season a slight nod. coaching? Doc gets the nod there. AND they could put Pierce, Ticket, Allen, Rondo all on the floor at once. don't forget the C's that season were also the top ranked defensive team of that season(if emeory serves)...
