So, Howard tells Rockets he wants a 3rd superstar?

i'd give the C's bench of that season a slight nod. coaching? Doc gets the nod there. AND they could put Pierce, Ticket, Allen, Rondo all on the floor at once. don't forget the C's that season were also the top ranked defensive team of that season(if emeory serves)...

Pop also had the coaching nod....

Which Allen are you talking about?

You actually believe that? The guy for months sported an avatar of LeBron picking his nose (playing with himself) for God's sake...

And I'm not honest??? Is that why I included LeBron in my Top 10 in the Top 15 all-time thread??? Call me whatever you want - stalker, hater, troll (LOL), whatever. But don't you ever call me dishonest.

You think sporting an avatar of a guy picking his nose means I like him? Seriously?!? Yeah, nothing like finding a flattering picture of a guy picking his nose!!

2004 the east was weak... in 2005 Detroit won the East again.. beat Miami in 7 in the ECF. 1st year with Shaq. Wade and Shaq both were injured in the ECF. Next year Miami retools, and drops those same Pistons in 6 games, in Detroit. That team was good.. but not great.

You say I am selling a team short. All year I had to hear you and the Laker fans talk about how only 'special' teams can go back to back. Now the Heat have, and youre going to start listing flash in the pan one time champion teams? Let me guess what's next... the 06 Heat could have dropped the big 3 heat?

Well, now that you mention it!! That '06 team had Shaq (when he was still Shaq) and a younger, better D-Wade!! It would be a pretty entertaining series!!

didn't say they WERE great. I said they were COHESIVE. big difference...

"flash in the pan" seriously? ok...

as far as '06, all I have to look at is how many times Dwade went to the ft line to see how that one came out...and I actually rooted FOR the Heat that series...

Shaq was good but he wasn't dominant as he was with the Lakers and was basically a no show in the finals

Doc get's the nod at coaching over spoles? whatever. Doc has one title. Spoles has 2.

Erik Spolestra coaching record: 260 -134 .660% playoffs 50-39 .633 2 Rings
Doc Rivers coaching record: 587-473 .554% playoffs 121-64 .529 1 ring

Im calling bullshit on Rivers being the better coach. Rivers was up 3-2 heading to boston two years ago and Spoles coached circles around him those final two games. The year before miami beat the defending eastern confernce champs coached by doc rivers in 5 games.

Spo did more with less than Doc did. Doc was a shitty coach until KG and Ray came. Spo was still a decent coach leading the Heat to playoffs appearances and even one 47 win season with just Wade.

Spo>Doc

Shaq was #3 in scoring on the Heat in the finals. Behind Wade and the great antoine walker. Mourning had as many blocks in 15 minutes in game 6 as Shaq had the whole series. Shaq was a shell of his self at that point and it was really beginning to show.

Spoles beats rivers on every count. Spoles has never been beneath .500. Spoles took over a 15-67 team and turned them into a playoff team. He used to get knocked (by me included)... but the dude has earned my respect. If anything his adjustments in the finals are what led Miami to beat to the Spurs. The reinsertion of Battier in game 6.

Spoles has changed the way basketball is being played right now with the small ball rage. Doc never had an effect on the game like this. Spoles is a young future hall of famer.

He was better in the paint that anyone the Heat have now!! It would actually be funny watching Bosh Spice trying to guard Shaq in the paint!! And the '06 D-Wade would have pretty well destroyed today's D-Wade!!

The difference maker in that series might be the current Heat having Lebron, but it would still make for a pretty entertaining series!!

Forgot Zo was on that team!! Gives the '06 Heat even more of a chance, imo!!

You have called the Laker fanbase morons on multiple occasions and you have said that they will be down for quite some time.

You accuse CL of posting only about the Heat and/or James, yet you post just as much, if not more about the Lakers than he does about the Heat!! You start more threads about the Lakers than most Laker fans. And how much time have you spent on the Heat haters threads, both here and at cbs trying to tell people to get over their hate?

And you acknowledging that they are the most storied franchise ever (although Celtic fans would likely disagree) has nothing to do with you calling their fanbase morons and claiming that they will be down for awhile!!

As for the Lakers prospects for the future? Whether Dwight re-signs or not, the fact is that in the summer of 2014, the Lakers will have only Nash's contract on the books (and Dwights' if he re-signs) and as Mitch Kupchak said: "an enormous amount of financial flexibility"!! Does this not sound a lot like what the Heat had just 3 seasons ago!!

Do you honestly think that a "destination franchise" like the Lakers, that will have a ton of cap space available, will really have any more trouble getting top talent to come take their money, than Heat had getting them to take theirs?[/

You are all over the place.

I do think a lot of Laker fans here act like morons, that's my opinion.

I do think the Lakers will be down for a few to several years. That is also my opinion.
I didn't say suck. I just envision them as 5-8 seeds likely losing in round 1 or 2.

The Heat Haters thread also has you confused. Heat fans lie the Heat being hated, because that means they are winning. The issue we have is the denial of the reasons for the hate. It's pretty hard to make someone believe that you could hate a team for3 years because of a tv show, fan celebration and tattoos when your team is/was loaded with some of the biggest clowns/ thugs/ jerks of this decade in the NBA.

As far as the summer of 14' , who ( and let's assume not James) are you signing that makes you contenders?

Until I see a Laker roster with actual names on it that makes me believe they are good enough to contend, you are just going to have to live with my opinion that they won't.

As far as posts/ threads. I comment on all sorts of topics, and the Lakers just happen to be a pretty popular topic.

I actually started this thread which isn't a Laker thread, it is a Howard thread, and as today, he certainly is not current Laker property, is he?

Dude, anything with LeBron in your avatar is attention he feeds off of. Just listen to his postgame press conference after the Dallas loss, then listen to his comments after winning this year. His haters mean something to him. The more you post about him, the more he feeds off of it.

Bosh wouldnt have to guard Shaq. Haslem would. And it would be fine... because all we would be doing is fouling shaq down low. Or maybe just let him go for his whole 13 points a game in the finals.

foul him in the inside hip right where the pelvis opens.. rt and left side. that's where they put transplant kidneys. he'd be out of the series.

too far?
