Would you guys have considered "rest of playoffs and 7 to start next year" appropriate?

Or would you have still wanted more?

Banishment from the league is what I really wanted, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. I think the league didn't get Cooke more than 10 because anything over 10 can be appealed by Cooke. That said, rest of the playoffs plus first 10 games of next season should have been handed down.

rest of playoffs all preseason and 7 regular season next year. minnesota could be out in 2 games and that would leave 5 next season (and would any be pre season?)

However many games this post season would not be included next year. Basically the suspension would be "until" 7 games into next. Post season now, preseason then PLUS seven game.

I don't get the whole knee-on-knee assault thing. Doesn't the perp stand as much a chance of getting injured as the victim? :gaah:

I think the fact that the hitter has a chance to brace themselves for it and the hittee doesn't know it's coming.

I like the enthusiasm here. I can also echo the sentiments regarding Cooke. The guy's a waste of skin.

My question is this: if you're going to rip a guy's head off and shit down his neck (one of my favourite combos BTW), is it really necessary to shove his teeth down his throat first? Seems kind of like a wasted step.

We're all about efficiency here at the Hoop Hockey Board. I just think time spent shoving teeth down throats can be better spent shitting down necks. That's just me though.

I'm not suggesting collusion, but if NHL GM's would stop giving this joker an opportunity to injure other players, wouldn't that solve the problem? Harsher suspensions are required for the individual player committing these acts, but maybe harsher fines should also be handed down to the team (maybe $100,000 for each game a player is suspended). You want to continue putting him in the lineup, your team runs the risk of racking up some huge fines.

In MLB, a guy just got 10-game suspension for pine tar. In NHL, repeat offender Cooke got 7 for leading w/ knee and injuring Barrie.

To be fair (easy WW), he's a pitcher so he'll probably miss two starts.

The incosistency strikes again!! 10-game minimum it should have been.
