Pixel 4 was announced of course but pretty much everything had already been leaked beforehand. It was probably the most leaked phone in history.

They also announced .....

Nest Wifi - the successor to their current mesh router with built in Google Assistant capabilities (mic/speaker/etc.). I will probably get one of these at some point between now and christmas. I have the original Google Wifi router and really need a 2nd to cover a few weak spots here and there at the further end of my house.

Pixelbook Go - a new chromebook that should be a little more accessible to people than the starting at $999 original Pixelbook was. A lot of people wanted Pixelbooks but who the fuck wants to pay $1000 to $1,800 on a damn chromebook? They are still too fucking high though. I may get one sooner or later as I've been curious for awhile about chromebooks but i want to see some reviews and potential sales.

Nest mini 2nd gen - the successor to the original small assistant speaker. The "echo dot" of the googleverse. Better speaker and mics apparently, but i already have like 4 of the originals so i think i'm good on the one. I doubt it's a huge difference.


Pixel Buds 2 - the successor to the shitty wired ones they brought out a few years ago. These actually look legit and should be competing with the Airpods (they better fucking sound better). They are very small, have a nice wireless charging case that provides 24hrs of extra battery life. These won't release until Spring 2020.

It's funny how ten years ago, almost no one had a decent digital camera and today it's seemingly THEE only reason to have a cell phone in the first place, so you can take a pic of your dinner and post it to half a dozen social media platforms.

I buy my cell phones for texting and emailing, and occasionally someone will try to call me on it. I don't even think younger people actually use theirs for calling, unless it's something like face time or skype. Voice only calls are soooo 1890's

And I think the watches are cool from a Dick Tracy/Jetsons nostalgia standpoint, but honestly, by the time they were mainstream we'd already moved past that technology to something even better. Good for you if you like them, but I don't see the point any more. A 500$ piece of tech is way more vulnerable on my wrist than in my pocket.

I'd consider the Pixel line, I guess...but not as excited about it.

Either of the latter 2 are good values. Samsung's "S" are a bit expensive.

I downloaded the leaked apk of the camera app from the pixel 4 and wow at the astrophotography mode on it. These pics im sure will lose some quality through compression but they look fucking fantastic IRL.

They really do need to make a watch though. I have a feeling they are waiting to refine that motion sense radar shit into a watch and try to match some of the Apple watch's health tracking stuff. That radar gesture shit on a watch would be fucking awesome if they do it right.

I wore one for years....and have an old smart watch now that i rarely ever wear....but I am definitely a techie person and prefer to go that route now that it is a thing.


There's nothing wrong with an analog watch though. I've owned plenty of them.
