Why in heavens name would we hire Manusky? He has a terrible track record. Gruden has got to start making better decisions. How can you pick Manusky over Pettine or Bradley. I guess its all speculation at this point. The fact that nobody has been hired is troubling. We should already have our DC in place. Heck, brand new coaches have already hired their DC and we are going on week 2 almost. This front office is becoming a dumpster fire.

I don't think Manusky was as bad as you think. Guys are ready to hire a DC that really improved under Pete Carroll. No matter who they bring in they have to up the talent.

Like or dislike Manusky, he would be a status quo hire and imo, not what the fans aiken for right now. I know, who cares what fans think. The franchise needs to hire a DC with a successful proven track record. Manusky doesn't fit that criteria. By default we likely end up with Pettine.

What is concerning is the lack urgency in getting a qualified candidate in place. New coaches within the past week have begun filling out their staffs with OC's & DC's yet, he we are undecided after 2 weeks. Unless we are actually wanting to interview prospective candidates from active playoff teams.

And we have a winner....

At this point, I would be thrilled with Pettine. There is no urgency with this front office right now. Pray we don't take this attitude into free agency and only get serious once all the elite talent is off the market. My biggest fear through all of this and it was proven last year is that the Front Office honestly believes this team is better than it really is. That mentality is going to cripple this team and get some folks booted out.

Actually we never interviewed Wilks. I get it they want to be very sure on the hire they make, but they need to actually MAKE a hire at this point. I wouldnt be overly upset with Pettine and Manusky at this point. Both have had success as DC, and its going to come down to the players they bring in. Im also still hoping we ditch the 3-4 as a base and realize we are better setup for a 4-3 scheme.

They aren't making decisions or making decision too late in the game. Why did they wait for almost 2 weeks to interview Phillips? We could have had him if they interviewed him the day after or close afterwards. Why haven't they offered the job to Bradley? Why haven't they offered the job to Pettine? We would have heard if any of this would have happened.

What is being reported is an aimless search that now includes Rob Ryan, Manusky and Tomsula. It seems like they are casting a wide net and have no idea what they truly want. Shark is right, they need to make a decision. The lack of an offer or reported offer doesn't bode well at this point. Same for the OC, why has no interviews been scheduled or the internal promotion not extended? We needed competent coaches on our staff and waiting around is the worst thing to do. That has been our approach. Keep in mind that we literally have no DC, OC, DL, or DB coaches at this point.
