I'm not buying Kai wasn't the first to know about his release. I call BS on that, unless the building is bugged. Oh wait, do we play NE this year.

On another note, "the golden shoe" kid does have a strong leg and played for my alma mater FSU...just like the former and they released him to early Graham Gano...good luck Dustin, it's a great place to be a kicker, unless of course you miss one.

I cant believe you guys don't like this move. Kai can not kick the long FG. Perfect example was Sunday's game when Morris got stopped at the 36 yard line of Miami. 53 yard FG should be attempted on any team but not ours. Why? Its b/c Kai cant kick the long ones. Its amazing how people on here defend this guy. I don't care if he clutch inside the 40 yard line. I want a guy who can kick the 52 yard FG to win games or put points on the board like yesterday. Its about time this organization finally realized that Kai should be gone. Gruden is kicking himself that he kept Kai over Hocker in last years training camp.

It also goes to show you that we signed a rookie unknown with a big leg to replace Kai. Im so happy they finally did it. Plus this is not all about the one miss yesterday. This stems from last year. This was a huge problem b/c of his line drive kickoffs and he just has no leg. Im so happy he is gone. Hopefully the new kid works out. At least they will be no kickoff returns to worry about.

its not if I want Kai or not. its that we are not addressing the real problem. WE CANT COVER ANY KICKS. Hell, we only kicked off 3 times and 2 of them were deep into the end zone yesterday.

How is this new kicker going to stop a punt return? How is this new kicker going to minimize drive killing penalties? How is this new kicker going to infuse turnovers by our defense? How is this new kicker going to keep Roberts from dropping more passes? Kai is so far down the list of issues we have. I can't wait until this new guy, who you know nothing about, misses a 40 yd FG or an extra point. Be prepared.......

I understand this K doesn't solve everything. But if we need a 52 yard FG to win a game I'm glad its him not Kai. If the new kicker can eliminate KO coverage that would be great. Im talking about the kicker issues not the whole team jy19. Geez. lol.

I'll remember your position when our 12 play 63 yard drive results in a totally deflating miss from 41 Dean. I'm sure the Eagles and Steelers' kickers are great at kickoffs too. How many games come down to last second 53 yard field goals anyway? Way way more games are decided by shorter kicks and we just cut a guy who makes 87% of them.

So guys like Janko and Gostrski are dismissed b/c Kai is good inside the 40? Are you serious? If you get a guy who can get a 53 yard FG that is huge for an offense. A lot of games come down to long FG DGfan.

Our new K is a rookie so there is a learning curve but I rather have a kid who has the tools to build on then a guy who you know cant kick long Fg or touchbacks.

Way actually out kicked his coverage and the gunners couldn't get off blocks. That is trouble for any team not just ours.

Forbath kicked a 52 yard FG against Cleveland this preseason.

This (cutting Forbath and signing this new kid) seems like another SOP, lazy, trying to cut corners move by yet another FO/coaching staff. Instead of getting someone competent to coach the coverage teams how to damn tackle. They go and get some kid with a strong leg and hope he kicks KOs out of the end-zone. Never once it seems taking into consideration that Forbath is damn dependable with a strong enough leg as a FG kicker.
