What did you make of Doc's comment regarding Kirk fearing to take a risk further down field?i dont think anyone "fears " the deep pass. what i think is going on here is your playmaking deep threat was hurt , you have a young int prone qb that you had to build up , and a young team in general learning to play together
fear isnt in the equation and i think you will see more shots deep when players get healthy , the line jells better , and KC gets more confident

Throws may have been available downfield but what number in the progression are those throws?
This is a guy that still isn't comfortable in his job and is doing exactly what he thinks a coach would want. Ask most QBs if they would rather throw a 40 yard bomb to a guy partially open or a 5 yard check to a guy that is open but won't make the first...every single one would say the 40 yarder...now ask that same guy if he is willing to lose his job if the short pass comes first in the scheme. He doesn't have the luxury of a guy like Brady and Manning...meaning...go ahead and bench me if you don't like me taking a shot.
