that whole who's the best thing is ????????
Jerry Rice. It is the only position in any sport where you can’t really intelligently argue somebody is better.

Yeah no way you can leave out Baugh, Otto Graham. Both changed the game. Sammy Baugh was the first QB to throw the ball to any extent. Graham was just a great QB. Much different eras but men who helped changed the game.
He couldn't beat out Haskins in college has little merit in the NFL. Both Haskins and Burrow were one year wonders. 5 or 6 years in the NFL will help tell which one is better. Burrow won the Heisman, does that make him better? I don't think so. What if LSU wins the NC, does that make him better ... I don't think so. Since Haskins already went to a bad team and Burrow is likely to go to a bad team it could be an uphill battle for both.
Good point, but I think that there's an argument that can be made for who's currently best in boxing. Historically?? Even listing Jerry Rice as the best ever elicits argument.Jerry Rice. It is the only position in any sport where you can’t really intelligently argue somebody is better.
including Baugh and Graham would be like including pre-Revolutionary War heroes on Rushmore.
Bart Starr was more likely to go on.
This is what I don't get about your posts. Sure time is the truth teller for all men no matter their lot in life, but what we're talking about has nothing to do with how they fare in the future. Their draft eligibility is/was now or a year ago, and just as you want to look back after 5-6 years as professionals, we have nothing to look at now beyond what they have already done. So stated, in a time and place where each had a chance to prove themselves on the same team, only one proved himself better. That sir is a fact! Do with it whatever pleases you!
I certainly agree that one is with a bad team/organization and the other seems destined to join another, but what will that ultimately prove, that if unsuccessful by today's NFL standards, they are bad QB's? Nope! Just members on bad teams as was Marino, Jurgensen, Moon, Stafford, Luck, Rivers, Ryan and your guy when here Cousins, to list a small sampling of the host of really good QB's working on bad teams.
Can't help if you don't understand Sty. It was a simple explanation. I know, I know Haskins is your boy. Burrow won the Heismann, Haskins didn't .... we'll see how the NC turns out. Not all coaches make the best decision but if you listen to anyone talking about Burrow most say they did not see this coming. Sometimes it takes a little longer for a player to develop.
I'll tell you one thing, he is putting on a hell of a show today. I might change my choice for pick.Just kidding. LSU was heavily favored but Burrow is shredding them.
Who thought Lincoln Riley was going to be a good HC??
Only you could bring Cousins into a discussion about Burrow and Haskins![]()
Welp! we again agree on something, it was "simple" (See #4:Simple | Definition of Simple by Merriam-Webster) BTW: it turns out that I understood your post it for what it is and it had nothing in it related to whether or not Haskins is "my boy!" He is not! I also knew that Burrow was a good QB having been a follower of several college teams, Ohio State being one of them since people that I played high school football with and against attended the school. (long time...I know!)
One other thing, I learned to bring Kirk Cousins into unrelated conversation by mimicking your lead. It wasn't easy but I had to put my "feelings" into play before getting there!![]()
I told you before Sty, it is what we do ... bait each other.
One of the things I learned about sports is there are no absolutes. We can study, scout, compare and everything else but nothing replaces actually playing the game. Not to mention that all of these guys are at the mercy of the team they play for.
I like Ohio State and I hate them. Best two teams are LSU and Ohio State.
Good to see Penn State win. Micah Parsons for DPOY next year although tough position to win that from. 14 tackles, two forced fumbles and should have had a pick 6. He is a BEAST!! Tank next year.![]()
Yeah, boy can ball but what's up with that double 11? (somebody using somebody else's rep to get the women?)
Good point, but I think that there's an argument that can be made for who's currently best in boxing. Historically?? Even listing Jerry Rice as the best ever elicits argument.
To me there would have to be two Mount Rushmore's, one for the gladiator era of football the other for the current rules change era. Perhaps an asterisk on the modern era signifying the weakened game?
The game hasn't weakened imo, homey. These dudes have just gotten so big, strong and fast. The human body simply isn't built for the game of football. So I do understand the rule changes.
