Yup. It unequivocal. After one game, we can crown Kirk the best QB we've ever had. How can that be wrong?

Hell after one exceptional season running a mostly gimmick offense, we crowned RG3 a franchise QB with limitless potential to change the way the position is played.

# only half sarcastic.

You didn't see one against KC, either. We haven't run the read option the last 2 weeks.

in KC we were destroyed from the opening snap

so other then the KC game we have run the read option (maybe none vs philly either )

the point is you wont see KC running much read option

also most of the time Rg3 was in tight formations and did very little down field seem throws

kc was in much more spread type of formations

And if Rex were playing you wouldn't see any read option either. You put in a game plan that plays to your QB strengths. It's not a conspiracy, its common sense.

i think you missed the point , the read option play was a part of our offense , KC and rex dont run it hence the offense was , say it together now changed

the OP said it wasnt

ok so lets scale this down for you , if they scaled down the offense for RG3 and then changed it to a more upgraded package , then you , say it together now changed the offense we were running

the OP said it wasnt changed , changing it for the better is still a change

From a guy who knows the offense, Chris Cooley. No read option plays were run. The rest was the same offense they normally run. Since they normally 7-8 read option plays per game. Kirk ran the offense from under center more often than the pistol because he prefers to be under center where Griffin prefers to be in the pistol. Different formation, same offense.

I saw some people say "hey the coaches called better pass blocking for Cousins." Actually Cousins set his protections better and moved in the pocket much more efficiently.

Basically everyone is right. The Skins ran their normal plays from different formations and left the read option plays out. That is called good coaching. You coach to the strength of the players. Robert is not a good pocket QB at this time, Kirk is. Robert is an option QB, Kirk isn't.

Conspiracy theories are full of crap.

Caught Pierre Garcon's interview from yesterday on ESPN 980 on the way in this morning. He said the same thing as Cooley. Same offense, Cousins under center more. Griffin is more of a threat to run from the pistol.

Guys, Griffin has played most of 2 years. He came here needing to learn to play QB in the NFL. Shanahan designed an offense that used principals of the offense he ran in college the first year. It caught the league by surprise. It worked so well Seattle and San Fran adopted it. Now defenses have caught up some. Griffin now needs to learn how to become a drop back passer.

Kirk has had two .... TWO starts. That's not nearly enough to call him a starter (see Matt Flynn.)

One thing I have noticed on these boards is many want instant decisions made. Sometimes this is a process and that is what this should be. No one knows if Robert will develop into a good pro style QB. He has the athletic skills but you can't know he will make the transition yet. Kirk is more NFL ready because of his experience but there is no way anyone can tell in two games if he is an NFL starter or a quality backup. This needs to play out over another year in my opinion.

hence my point all along . way too early to give up on Rg3 at this point we should be glad we have 2 great options at qb

giving up on RG# would be stupid geez give the kid a rest let him get healthy both physically and mentally.

Deal with the coaching issues and lets see what he does next season. He could shine bright or burn out but for the investment you have to give him every chance to succeed. I think he will but giving up now is just fools talk

Listen, it's ok to have questions after the season he had. I just don't get how you can discount all that he has done before this season and all he went thru in the offseason and now believe he is probably a bust.

j_y... I think the real problem is, to some people that if you have legit questions you are calling him a bust. Otherwise you have to agree he is a franchise QB now. There apparently is no grey area. Some also dont believe in the concept that Griffin could become a franchise QB for us but the trade ultimately be viewed as a failure. It comes down to a mind set of all in or you give up on him.

when you call the guy a "diva " RGME and start threads about who he will throw under a bus that goes beyond "questioning " and into a new realm

you said the trade was a mistake . that is a statement not a question

sorry but that isnt "questioning " that is already forming an opinion .
