Nice work and thank you. Those first 3 picks are not bad - we can definitely get some starters IF we are smart and don't fall in love at the combine. Need a bit of luck too.

All I hope for is that we don't go for potential but for what we know we're getting.

Using the First Pick site is annoying right now, as the rankings haven't settled and guys are jumping up and down in the mocks. Plus, I have to trade down early to approximate the Rams real pick allotment.

I know. How hard is it to go by a motto of finding balanced players that dominate their position for 2-3 years? A LT that didn't run block 90% of his college career. :L

Interested to see how Connor Cook does today with his 1st start on the road in the playoffs.

If the Rams would just get the BPA concept down, we might have a fighting chance. Otherwise, they'll get a stiffy for some project and we are back to square one. Hopefully the new coach/GM will change all that and finally get some talent in our key areas in here.

Here's my thought... Why in the hell would you take a guy in the 1st or even 2nd round that's a project? Projects are for round 4 or lower, MAYBE the 3rd round but no thanks really.. Give me the guys who showed what they had in college so you know what you are getting.

GRob was just another player that ESPN hyped up during the draft. QBs are usually the ones who get waaaaay over-hyped. The Rams just fall for it about every combine and when these projects like GRob get all that money? They really don't have the hunger to work their tail off to improve on their weaknesses.

That's also a Fisher thing. Nobody seems to work their tail off for him, unless it's instilled in them from before becoming a Ram, like Aaron Donald.

For sure. I just see alot of guys that get that lotto money early in the 1st and they know they don't belong. I'd say more than 60% of them just sit back on that pile of cash and really don't get much better.

Well with the Goff trade the Rams have tied themselves to a second selection that has to work out. I always like the BPA theory but the holes in the OL might just change my mind on that. As much as the LT position is a problem and GRob doesn't seem to be the answer, looking into prospects, the LT position is a bit weak from where we are at #37. The Rams must hit a homerun at #37 because at #69 a real stud is just a hope. So I will look at two players that might be available at #37 or even a small trade back for the 2nd one but neither will make it out of the 2nd round. First is LSU center Ethan Pucic, he would be real good at #37 or Ohio State center Pat Elflein could be had up to maybe #50. Either way we must get the best center available when we should have had one last year. I know its not sexy but neither is 4-10 and a huge hole up the middle.

current CBS rankings (30-46):

30 Garett Bolles OT 3 Utah Jr 6-5 296 1-2
31 Dan Feeney OG 1 Indiana rSr 6-4 305 1-2
32 DeShone Kizer QB 3 Notre Dame rSo 6-4 230 1-2
33 O.J. Howard TE 1 Alabama Sr 6-6 251 1-2
34 Takkarist McKinley OLB 4 UCLA Sr 6-2 258 1-2
35 Carlos Watkins DT 2 Clemson rSr 6-3 305 1-2
36 Gareon Conley CB 6 Ohio State rJr 6-0 195 1-2
37 David Njoku TE 2 Miami (Fla.) rSo 6-4 240 1-2
38 Caleb Brantley DT 3 Florida rJr 6-2 297 1-2
39 Roderick Johnson OT 4 Florida State Jr 6-6 308 1-2
40 Raekwon McMillan ILB 2 Ohio State Jr 6-2 240 1-2
41 Tre'Davious White CB 7 LSU Sr 5-11 192 2
42 Dede Westbrook WR 5 Oklahoma Sr 5-11 175 2
43 Charles Harris DE 7 Missouri rJr 6-3 255 2
44 DeMarcus Walker DE 8 Florida State Sr 6-2 273 2
45 Chris Wormley DT 4 Michigan rSr 6-5 302 2
46 Ethan Pocic C 1 LSU Sr 6-6 309 2

Other than OG, QB and DT, I think any of these players could be solid BPA at that #37 pick (although I don't think Westbrook would be the type of WR they should pursue). Of course, everything depends on the Rams' board and who slides.

We definitely need to sign a O Tackle in FA - earlier i said this guy needs to be around 25-27 and no injuries. Someone just up and coming that been improving year to year. He won't be crazy expensive.

Then draft a center and a tackle in the draft. FSU's LT is pretty good - no idea how he will transition to the NFL but he's better than Alex Barron. You have to bring in some talent for the Oline and have them battle. They should get great experience from battling that Dline all camp and preseason.

If you can get Dak Prescott in the 4th, it's possible.

FA Possibilities (with 2016 salary):

Matt Kalil LT 27 MIN TBD $11,000,096 UFA -
Riley Reiff LT 28 DET TBD $8,070,000 UFA -
Bradley Sowell LT 27 SEA TBD $1,000,000 UFA -
Benjamin Ijalana LT 27 NYJ TBD $840,000 UFA -
Mike Adams LT 26 CHI TBD $760,000 UFA -
Nick Becton LT 26 CHI TBD $675,000 UFA -
David Quessenberry LT 26 HOU TBD $568,363 UFA
James Hurst LT 25 BAL TBD $513,000 RFA
Jeremy Vujnovich LT 26 IND TBD $525,000 ERFA -
Alejandro Villanueva LT 28 BUF TBD $480,000 ERFA

Not being expensive eliminates the first two. ERFA status likely eliminates the last two.

Forrest Lamp out of WKU looks good as well. Not sure where he's slotted at currently though. Also a good WKU guy to look at for WR is Taywan Taylor. He's got good speed and hands from what I saw.

If the quality tackles are the more expensive ones, then we need to make it happen. Would rather have one on the cheap that will work their way into being good, but we need massive help now.

I'm not sure how readily available either will be though. Remains to be seen what the new HC's system will be as well.

Yeah be great to see who "we end up with". Sad that we can't get it done before Jacksonville.

Maybe this is part of the problem with our oline and QB play? Maybe the D is beating them down!

DeMarcus Walker i could live with too. Is Quinn going to be here? Is Tru?

Well, they stuck with the in-house hire. Broncos have hired Vance Joseph. Looks like Buffalo is going with McDermott (and Mike McCoy as OC) and the Rams appear to be going with McVay (with Wade Phillips as DC?).

Wonder where Anthony Lynn is going? McCay looks like a puppet. Hope they can bring in a DC with a hammer.
