This afternoon, at 4:00 Eastern Time, John Lackey goes after his 8th win of the season.

His walks and Ks per 9 innings this season are both better than his career numbers,
while his scheduled opponent, Hiroki Kuroda is worse in both stats this season.
So don't think negatively, Red Sox. Instead, think "in 1st place and staying there!"

Can't help wondering whether either Drew knows anything about Rick Burleson, who wore #7
for the Red Sox a long time ago.

"The Rooster" wasn't quite my favorite player back then, but he was very close.

Lackey pitched good

Yankees played the field like the ball was a hand granade

bad calls in both halves of the 4th


all adds up to a Boston victory today.

Lackey will pitch well more often than Doubront will. And his bad games
aren't as bad as Doubront's can be.

Long story short Doubront is a lot more expendable than Lackey, at least in my view.

Bad calls cancel each other out most games, IMO. This one was no exception
as far as I could see.

Tonight at 8:00 PM our Red Sox will pursue their 74th victory of the season behind RyanDempster.

Dempster's season WHIP is only slightly worse (1.450 to 1.431) than his career WHIP)

His scheduled opposing starter will be C. C. Sabathia, who's season WHIP (1.325) is worse
than his career 1.227.

Let's hope after tonight Sinstripe fans will be booing Carsten Charles Sabathia,not cheering him!
