Do you realize that we were 10-28-2 with Langs on our team and 16-2-2 since we traded him... on a side note Dallas is 7-10-1 with him on their team

I think Dallas's record speaks more to Langs than ours. We just finally got in to the coaching system Lemeire teaching.

What I'm about to say is pure speculation, but I've had a feeling that Langenbrunner was a bit miffed after the Kovy trade last year with Atlanta. He never seemed positive about anything after that and his play the second half of last year, especially in the playoffs, and into this year was non-existent.

I believe that he was the main cancer in the locker room and, given that he was the captain, getting rid of him was about as important as dumping JMac. Plus it was pretty well documented that him and Lemaire didn’t get along and I feel like Lemaire wouldn’t have even come back as interim coach unless Jamie was basically out the door.

I don't think he was very happy in NJ... I just hope it didn't spoil Parise on the Devils cuz they were friends, but come on the guy acted like a toddler throwing a tantrum sometimes

i'll stick to my theory that the only way parise leaves is if he wants to leave. plain and simple.

but i do think that langs was liked as a friend by most of the team, and didn't play selfishly he still had a selfish attitude towards the end of his devils career. i think he got too caught up in his own feelings towards the end in comparision to the issues of the team as a whole. no ill willl towards him, but something clearly went sour with him the past 2 years

I really dont beleive Parise is gonna base his decision on what langenbrunner went through. All indications is that we will resign but that being said I wont sleep easy until his sig is on that njd contract

I was almost wondering if he developed an ego between all the attention he was getting and the whole captain America spotlight.

well its almost a garuntee that he'll be in a devils jersey for at least 1 more year, so i'll breathe easy, i think it really depends on if there is some success in either this season (did i really just say that?) and next year

It was smart to move him anyway. Palmieri hasn't missed a beat since coming up. He's never going to hit 60 pts most likely, BUT he could easily develop into a 25G man by just sitting in front of the net.

Furthermore, there is no way Langs was coming back since the Devils would have needed cap space and Jamie is already 35. Signing him would have been a recipe for disaster.

All Palmieri needs to do is improve his skating a bit and he's all set. The work ethic is obviously there.
