I know some people don't like him but he has talent. He has just been released. He would be a great back up to have. Now the only problem he can find a starting spot on a lot of teams.

I would 100% take a chance on him and release McCoy. Freeman would be a Big upgrade for us.

How much would it cost? I don't think he will be cheaper than McCoy.

I don't think the 9ers will bother with him. I think the Jets might pick him up. His issues means he wouldn't be able to help out on any team right away....a project.

Goodbye McCoy
Hello Freeman

I've never been a Freeman fan, but I would gladly take him as our top backup over McCoy. If we have Freeman on the sideline we can afford to take the reigns off of Kaepernick from time to time. Right now Kaep has to play so safe for fear of injury it holds back the offense.

Freeman > Skelton... obviously but I don't care....

I think Jax should make a strong play for him

You're out of your mind or ill-informed. One or the other.

What happened to him? He had that one year where he at least protected the ball and managed games effective enough to at least be a starter on a handful of other teams.

I believe if we claimed him off waivers, we'd have to pay his salary. That's not going to happen. If he clears waivers, I've got to think there will be several teams willing to offer him more than we would.

Has anyone watched a bucs game this year that thinks we should grab freeman. Because I have watched two and I don't think its a good idea. Not saying everything going on over there is Freemans fault, but he has looked terrible in situations you can't blame on the rest of the team.

Seriously after losing daniels, if we end up with Freeman and Skelton as our backup QB's I will be very disappointed.

He has issues off the field as well as on this season. Even if we picked him up I doubt he would be an instant back-up. Is he better than Skelton or McCoy..I would say yes but he is not ready as a back-up for any team.

Wow. He's so bad & toxic the Buccs are going to pay him 6 million to NOT be on the roster.

That says a lot. I wouldn't touch the guy with a 50 foot pole that Dodub was carrying for me.

Of course they won't. If the 49ers claim him off the waivers, they're gonna be paying 6mil for a backup. If they wait until he clears waivers, he'll pick a team where he has the best chance to start.

Not gonna happen.

Still don't understand why you guys got rid of Smith, Keapernick isn't the answer so maybe signing freeman might be best.
