This from a PG article about the end of the season. Basically it had a quote from him saying that he had a minor setback about a week or so ago, with some headaches coming back when he pushed the limit a bit more physically. He didn't seem too worried about it. Seemed like he was relieved to be given a lot of time to sit back and relax about it.

Take a Tylenol and get on the ice....

Hopefully he will be good to go at the start of camp.

I read somewhere as well Malkin told reporters he would have been ready to go if they had advanced to the ECF.

Get them ready for September is all i ask.

I hope your first sentence is sarcastic...
But yeah, I saw the Malkin thing as well. They'll be ready for camp though...that much is sure.

Yes, that was stolen from that shitty insider on pittsburgh sports site.

I guess those reports about Sid missing practice last week actually had some credence in him possibly feeling the effects, still....

Hits to the head aren't no joke. even if you didn't get knocked out. I got rocked pretty good from a kick to the head last year. Had headaches for almost 3 weeks. didn't train for a month.

I hope he gets better. sounds like he has it bad.

If he acutally torn has ACL, there is no way that is possible. That's a year recovery kind of injury. It might even take until mid-season next year until he is truly back to 100%. Some guys don't even make it back to full speed until a season AFTER the season when the surgery was for ACL tears.

P66 can probably give us more details on what we can expect from him.

Do you think that possibly had a demotivating effect on the Pens late in this series? Certainly seems possible.

You'd actually be very surprised at how the recovery time has dropped on these things. It depends on the severity of the tear, and I assume that because the Pens sought at second opinion on surgery that it wasn't a complete tear. The rehab time has been cut in half in the last 10 years alone. The quickest I've seen in the literature was just under 5 months, with the average being about 6 months. So, he MAY have been able to make it back, but it would've been pushing it. I think he could've made it back to the SCF.

I say this as a fan of hockey - Get healthy Sid, the game needs you back as close to 100% as possible. A healthy Geno wouldn't hurt either.

Cool. Always nice to have a few experts around. Thanks for the answer, P66.

As a Flyers fan I know all about losing star players due to concussions. I will always hate Scott Stevens for what he did to Lindros. From Lindros, to Primeau, to Gagne, to Lappy. Concussions are a bitch. Hopefully for his sake and the Pen's sake Crosby doesn't have to deal with the effects forever.

None of us know for sure what the complete story is. I hope Crosby makes a complete recovery, he is the best player in the game and as dash said the sport need's him.

I'm not a professional athlete, but I am solid and strong.......when I tore my R ACL and it took 6-8 months to get my full strength back. Just sayin..
