Should we just cut the CFB season to 2 weeks?

The Cfb landscape is just changing.

B1G hasn't had a 1st round QB drafted in 19 years.

They are 8-29 vs ranked ooc opponents over last 4 seasons.

worst metric ever... just.. wow...

There are a couple of things going on here. First, it's the media doing what the media does. They overreact to everything, every week. We're 2 weeks in, USC has a blowout win over a Fresno team that doesn't appear to be anything close to the pain in the ass Fresno teams of the past and a lucky win over Stanford (still don't know how we won that game), we are literally a couple of injuries or another fake drowning nephew away from disaster, yet I heard talking heads saying "USC is back". The B1G had a rough weekend, so of course, the media is sounding the conferences death knell.

Also, the B1G has dug itself a little bit of a hole because the teams that were considered the one's most likely to make the playoff have a loss. This would be the case even without a playoff. However, there is the old cfb saying that "it's better to lose early than lose late". If tOSU, MSU or Wiscy manage to win out, they will likely be solidly in the playoff discussion.

Yep, and it will obviously never change again, right?

Not trying to pile on. It is just the reality of the state of b1g football.

The truth stings the most.

Iowa and Oregon. Similar programs.

One is in the beatiful PNW with amazing football resources @ the UofO

The other in Iowa

One AD dept hires a football genius 9 years ago.

The other.... Ferentz

You gotta quit with this common sense stuff TF12.

It may. But with the times changing it is very unlikely the plains and Midwest schools will pass the West and especially the South.

Seattle or Lincoln?

Los Angeles or Columbus?

Florida or Michigan.

You are 18 make the call. Huge pct are choosing choice 1 in those scenarios.

It is a different day and age.

It's a good point he made. But he also is lending no thought to the landscape of not only modern cfb but our society in general.

And yes, it plays a roll.

Families are moving out west and down south in scads.

Employment and weather are two primary factors in that order.

Kids are different now than they were 20 years ago. You can blame that on media access, technology, etc.

Also tf12 is right about medias roll in the panic button approach.

But thinking long term viability is more my angle.

It is what is, and has been trending that way for years.

ND, Michigan, Ohio.

Just look at the results totals when they play out west or south teams.

Ya, they get a a W once in a while, but often get their doors blown off.

Dude, chill. The committee hasn't said a word one.

The reality is your conference's flag bearers got beat.

What else are the pollsters and or committee members supposed to go off of but ooc performances when deciding on a b1g team vs the other 4 conferences?

Do you really not see this?

Wisky, defeated by LSU
MSU defeated by 19 to Oregon
Ohio defeated by 14 @ home to VT

Not to mention the lackluster performances by the next group of b1g teams.

this

typical B1G drama queen thread

if Michigan st or Wisconsin win out they will be in the discussion for a playoff spot. big 10 didn't do themselves any favors but neither one of their losses was a bad one

How is this a typical B1G drama queen thread? Is the season young still or does 2 weeks predict the entire season? In 2009 Iowa almost lost to an FCS school the first game of the season and almost ran the table that year if it weren't for a QB injury. That's my point and I don't give a fuck about the losses by tOSU, UM, MSU and Wisky. Like TB said, did anyone think after week 2 Auburn would be playing for the Natty?

So where is this all going?

I am still trying to figure out your angle and where you are going with all of this . It appears you are pushing Iowa. No?

Just say what is on your mind specifically without beating around the bush.

I really hope they do make it and with a stroke of luck Oregon also makes it.

Wouldn't mind a first round matchup vs Iowa in Pasadena.

Because you're implying that draft status equals football ability when that has been clearly shown not to always be the case ad infinitum...

I'm not going to bother to type out the examples of where a "first round qb" was a total bust, but you get the idea, I'm certain...

No you shut your mouth and deal with the fact that your entire area of the country sucks balls at football because you deserve it. How dare you try to make an argument while we're circlejerking the big ten's demise!

Stop grouping the PAC with the SEC... Miles apart... Both in on the field results and recent history...
