Should the Devils rest some top players?

Devils are done with back-to-back games for the rest of the season. They have 8 games left. Should we systematically start to rest one of Parise, Elias, Kovy, Volch, Salvador, over the next bunch of games?

Note: I only think this could be a good idea if done now. They need to be playing everyone on the expected playoff roster for the last 3-4 games of the season, especially Marty.

Agreed 100%. Give JJ some more playing time, Bernier could be bumped up, I wouldn't mind a healthy scratch to one of our top 6 (Skykora mainly). And I would certainly like to see Taormina get a game or 2 in. Hedberg should also start either the Tampa Bay or Carolina game.

Thinking the same thing last night. We all witness the amount of playing time/double shifting the likes of Kovy & Parise have done all year. Some games it was apparent that fatigue was catching up with them.

We're not exactly running into the playoffs with momentum or on a scoring tear so resting our "top" players whom are also a bit older than most should provide to be beneficial for them and for the playoffs.

Noway. If this team was clicking and scoring then yes I would. But limping into the playoffs isn't good. I would cut down the mins and stop double shifting unless down a goal in the 3rd.

Id rest Sykora and Elias for a full game each but nothing else..gotta keep Kovy and Parise out there but could cut into their playing time in certain games (TB, CAR, NYI)

We're going to need Kovy and Parise at 110% so I would go with resting them first along with Elias and Sykora(guy needs some roids)

That's why I'm suggesting they do it now, so for the last 3-4 games everyone is back, some of the big minute guys get an extra day, etc, etc.

Deboer could also manage the rest with fewer practices, BUT I think that's the opposite of what they need now.
