i understand that the Carolina panthers have possible plans of building a new stadium according to their owner David Tepper in the next 10 years or within 10 years. I also read that Tepper wants to bring the final four and a MLS team one day to the Queen City. Should Charlotte have their own specific soccer stadium or end up sharing it with a new multi purpose stadium with the Carolina Panthers plus holding a future final four?

I live in Charlotte and David Tepper is aggressively seeking an MLS Team. I definitely see him building another stadium that can be used for all types of events. I like having the current one downtown but I don't see that happening with a new one.
He can take about 15% of his new worth and build a kick-ass facility

MLS shouldn't play in NFL stadiums. the attendance to MLS games in most markets isn't enough to fill it and it's a bad look on t.v. and in person. there could be 20,000 people there and it would look empty.

I'm totally with that. As someone who's been to DC United games in RFK Stadium and now in the new Audi Field, there's an absolute world of difference in terms of atmosphere.

The Patriots share a stadium with the New England Revolution.

The Kraft Group owns the Revolution, too. The stadium has big-name concerts, too.

I like multi-purpose facilities. Gillette Stadium is one of the few with zero taxpayer funding. And, it's outdoors.

Eh, the Clink has been fine in person and on TV IMO for the Sounders. Of course they average close to 40k a game which mostly just leaves the very upper level unfilled.

Yep, Seattle is one of the few markets that can draw that many

Unless RFK was breathable and Audi Field isn't, I'm not seeing any difference in atmosphere.

Yeah, that's why he played the state of CT for suckers back in the 90's. :tsk:

Yes, and if it's a women's soccer team then they should pay them billions of dollars each for not even any sandwiches.

I liked the Carolina stadium back when it was built, and still like it today....but if it's the owners money, I wouldn't give a flip, spend away.

plenty of room in that area to build multiple stadia. Or at least, there was when I left...so if they did get an MLS team, they could put up a 15K venue and then rent it out to arena rock bands.

So it seems like if Charlotte were awarded a Major League Soccer franchise then the most affordable option is would be to share a stadium with the Carolina Panthers but I see their lease expires after the end of the season and I understand the team is in danger of relocating to another city to house another NFL team whichever city that is. Anyways I hope Carolina stays Charlotte seems to like the panthers even though they missed winning the super bowl in 2015 I hope the fans won’t turn their back on the team too much like they choked you know. Anyways you really think they could build two separate stadiums for the Carolina Panthers and a new Major League Soccer team?

The Panthers stadium is a decent place to watch football and does not need to be changed.
They should go play soccer in the parking lot. Wait - there's no parking lot.
How about they build a combination parking lot and soccer field?

Should be separate stadiums. You have a MLS team play in a football sized stadium and it is just going to make the league look bad with how empty it will routinely be. The Philadelphia Union have a really gorgeous nice stadium and I think the small size of it works for that league.

I see so if Charlotte fails to get a stadium then it will go to Raleigh or Sacramento most likely I guess the real question is looking at downtown Charlotte is their any space seriously to put multiple stadiums? That’s why I question is Charlotte really a better option for a MLS team since Raleigh probably has more space? They are two fast growing cities. I am not sure if it’s a MLS rule now that teams must play and are required to have a soccer specific stadium.
