I have zero clue what Burfict has to do with this? I liked him, and I wanted him. I thought he'd be a steal. Mabe I'm on drugs, so unless you can find an actual post with me saying I didn't want Burfict at all, you are wrong.

History repeats itself here. It's like groundhog day with Bill Murray, only it's not nearly as funny, and then ending isn't a happy one.

Remember, Vick's baseline is 1,200 yards, 54% completion 5 TD/3INT in 7 games played.

Josh McCown started 8 games this year.
66.5% completion, for 1,829 yards, 13 TD's and just 1 INT (we can agree this is MUCH better than Vick).

Matt Cassel started 9 games this year.
60% Completion, for 1,807 yards, 11 TD's and 9 INT (This stat is a bit more in line with Vick in terms of comp %, TD/INT ratio).

Another close comparison is Chad Henne. He played in 15 games, since Gabbert sucks and was hurt, but if you cut his 15 games in half, he would have 1,620 yards on 60.6% completion, and 7TD's and 7 INT's. Close to what Vick was doing in his 7 starts this year.

Another comparable:

Matt Flynn. Between Oakland and GB 7 games roughly 62% completion for 1,400, 8 TD's and 5 INT's.


Vick falls squarely in line with guys that no one really wants. The best of the bunch is McCown, who no one wants as well, and said he's probably going to retire after the season anyway (I believe I read that somewhere, though I could be wrong on this).

Also, just for comparison, Foles was technically the backup (though the list I have above are F/A's this year, and Foles is not a F/A)

in 13 games Foles had 64% completion, 2,891 yards and a ridiculous 27 to 2 TD/INT. This is why Foles is now the Starter, and Vick is looking for a backup job somewhere. Backups are backups for a reason...they can't start for one reason (suck) or another (health).
