This young man is barely a freshman in High School in Los Angeles, but is already being seen as talent that will equal his father or Blake Griffin. Unfortunately we will have to wait another five years

Shaquille O'Neal's son dominates everyone in hoops mixtape | NBA | Sporting News

I like Griffin and think he's a fine player, but isn't there a pretty big gap there? Kind of like saying "he could be as good a right fielder as Hank Aaron or George Springer"

I'd rather have Shaq than Griffin...

I wonder where this kid goes for his one and done?

That's what the article said, so I was just quoting them, but I think they were talking in general terms only of physical strength and talent. Obviously Shaq had four rings and Griffin has yet to get one and quite possibly never will. If I am the Lakers though and Oneal is in the draft - even if he reaches Griffin's level and no more - I would be going after him, because I know I am going to surround him with better talent than what the Clippers have

Marvin Bagley is better. Straight outta Tempe, AZ rated as the #1 freshman in the country and #10 prospect in all of HS basketball AS A FRESHMAN. Between these two there are gonna be two prodigy-type players coming up in the same time frame. Should be fun.

Damn, I can't believe Shaq has a kid that old. Seems like it was just yesterday when he was in Los Angles.

I just saw the video. Incredible size, athleticism, and skill for his age.

Shaq is 43 so having a kid that old would make sense. Anyways best wishes to this kid going forward.

Yep - in Los Angeles - so obviously if he is really smart he will pick USC

 I'm a USC fan and even I won't go that far. If he wants to play for a traditional power basketball school, he'll go to UCLA and not even think twice. If he wants to be part of hopefully building something new, then he'll pick USC. Both of these assume that he wants to stay in L.A. Heck, if he's looking for a "basketball school," he could even pick San Diego St. over USC right now.

He might also want to go to LSU like his Daddy and I'd imagine schools like Duke, UNC, etc. already have him on their radar.

Of course, he's only a freshman, so who knows what things will look like in 3-4 years?

Nothing unfortunate about it. Let the kid develop properly before bringing him to the pro's.

Hopefully the kid is more dedicated than his father and will actually put in the time to learn how to shoot a free throw.

I bet he goes straight to the NBA. By the time he graduates, my guess is they'll have a rule in place where you can go straight out of HS and if you go to college, you stay 2 years.

I'd say there's a good chance the rules will be different, we just don't know what they'll be. Lil O'Neal will graduate after the upcoming 2017 work stoppage. I figure there's a 95% chance they change the draft eligibility rules then.
