Actually thought it a pretty good interview myself. Shanny refrains from really throwing anyone under the bus and keeps it pretty real, regardless of how you may feel about him and his actions during his tenure as the Skins HC.

Something that I've been saying all along came out in this interview. Although not directly said there's no other way to interpret these two things.

1. That the 2012 season was a product of the system than anything that RGIII did skills wise.

2. That he lacked the courage to do what was best (not starting him) for the young QB and subsequently the team by giving him time to learn after getting orders from Snyder/Griffin for less runs from the QB. This forced Griffin into a dropback role and by his own admission and I quote...... "RGIII was not ready for that and while he has the physical tools, becoming a drop back passer will continue to take time for Griffin, because he has no experience doing it." Unquote.

This season will test J. Gruden's mettle as well unless SM has intensified his off-season requirements. LEARNING route trees (number of steps to take goes with this )and play books is one thing, something BTW that he can do on his own, KNOWING them requires testing, which only comes from someone beyond himself, hopefully a coach. The same can be applied to being put in a pocket, learning to move, step, or slide comes only thru repetition.

there was no lacking of courage . he was a number 2 overall pick and you have to start a guy like that

the lack of courage came from Rg3 himself in not admitting he wasnt ready to be a pocket passer and taking the coaching needed to make him become one . Rg3's own head got and is getting in the way of his maturation as a professional qb . him and no one else

time to stop being an apologist for these young athletes and hold them accountable as men for their own actions and stop coddling them .

he is a grown man and he made choices , now its time to lye in the bed you made
