but it says, "percentage of pass rush plays they are rushing the quarterback" ... sounds to me like they are rushing 80% ... contain 20% ... If that is true those nubers are normal & nothing to be upset about

It is preceded by the sentence that they are not being used correctly as pass rushers. They are being asked to drop in coverage too much. Then follows the sentence of stats which was stated in a confusing way that sounded the opposite of what was previously stated.

i dont usually like shoup . he told me that for the last 2 years the skins offense racked up "garbage time " yds

however we need more pass rush opportunities for both

There are only two reasons why we are in last place yet again in the NFC East.

1. Coaching
2. Talent

You can pick one of those or it could be a combination of both as I personally believe. I know we got hosed with the cap penalty, but this is a results driven league and we are last yet again. It would be a mistake to fire Shanahan this year. He should get one more year due to the bogus penalties and RG3 injury. I think we can address both problems in the offseason, but I am not sure if we will. It basically comes down to:

1. We have to fire Haslett. The numbers are just silly. We are in the bottom quarter in defense every year and alot of it is on Haslett. We must bring in someone else and Shanahan has to know this. My fear is that he will not fire him as Shanahan is stuborn.

2. Go on a free agent shopping spree. No, Vinny Cerrato is not back but the lack of talent on this team is absurd. Allen/Shanahan must identify younger, healthy and talented players and get them in here with reasonable contracts. As I have said before, we need a minimum of 6 new starters to compete (CB, RG, C, WR, SS, ILB). We could also use another RT and Punter as well. We draft fairly well, so I think we can continue to draft good players and use them for depth for the time being. In other words, I think our 2nd round pick could start for us and might have to given the situation.

Bottom line is that Shanahan must do both to improve this team and to keep his job.

I agree Haslett needs to go.

Talent is not an issue on this team. We have pro-bowlers/future pro-bowlers in RG3, Alfred Morris, Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed, Trent Williams, Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrigan, and Deangelo Hall.

We have done well in the drafts since Shanahan got here. The problem is we had ZERO talent when he got here and the penalties have prevented us from getting anything in FA.
