LOSS Ohio State wins 31-17

Nebraska will be 4-0 going into this game. I think the Nebraska team will be cocky and over-confident because of last year, keeping the game close in Columbus.

Ohio State has QB Justin Fields a transfer from Georgia.

Players to Watch

DL Chase Young

RB JK Dobbins
WR KJ Hill
QB Justin Fields

DE Chase Young
S Jordan Fuller

True Freshman Rush End Zach Harrison (does Ohio State throw him in or make him redshirt)

Position Comparisons

OL Ohio State
QB Nebraska
RB Ohio State
TE Ohio State
WR Nebraska

DL Ohio State
LB tie
CB Nebraska
Safeties Ohio State

Kicking game - Nebraska
Punting - Ohio State

On November 3, 2018, Nebraska lost to Ohio State 36-31.

By this time, we should know that if all these teams with new coaches are
going to be teams that play hard. Ohio State has new coach Ryan Day, who was a coach at Ohio State and was interim coach and weent 3-0 in 2018.

I think the Ohio State team looked passed Nebraska last year. Ohio State lost to Purdue
and the players realized playoff hopes were dashed and they were a little down. In comes a 2-6 Nebraska team that Ohio State looked passed.

Nebraska was aided by turnovers last year. Will Dobbin still fumble? Probably.

Ohio State still has the talent. Pretty much consistency in coaching. Ohio State
also added defensive coaches from Michigan.

I think Ohio State is better up front on both sides of the ball, and that will be the deciding
factor. The addition of Greg Mattison, the new DC, is a strong hire by Ohio State.

JK Dobbins rushed for 163 yards last year and he returns.

It is possible there is an upset by Nebraska. But my brain says to take Ohio State,

Was waiting for this one and am a bit surprised.

I think with Ohio St having a new coach, a freshman QB, and just being in Lincoln will make this closer than 14.

Frosts teams appear to be more disciplined than Pelini and Riley teams who'd have pissed down their legs and gotten behind 21-0 in the 1st Q of this type of game. The longer the crowd can stay in this makes all the difference in the outcome.

Nebraska 2018

........................1st 6 Games..............Last 6 Games

T.O. Margin........... -7 .............................. +5
Penalties.............. 10.2 ........................... 5.2

You're right though in that it depends how far the Huskers have come 'up-front' on both sides of the ball.

Whether that be run or pass blocking on offense.
Whether that be stopping the run or getting a pass rush on defense.

It's been frustrating watching the Huskers get no pressure on QB's for the last 10 years.

That's also most likely GameDay's site that week if both are undefeated.

The crowd is going to be juiced.

No.

Let's have it.

No way Jose! I'm beyond terrible at trying to pick games. I'm so bad that when I lived in Vegas one of my neighbors asked me a few times to pick 5 or 6 CFB football games each week. And for a joke on more than one occasion he's pick the opposite & win a parlay sheet.

Big time sports fan. But one of the worst gamblers (or picking games) in the country. Of course I want the Buckeyes to win. But I'm not saying they will.

Ohio State at Nebraska

Just how for real are the 2019-20 Nebraska Cornhuskers? Linemakers have Adrian Martinez lined as a 12-1 longshot to win the Heisman Trophy with Scott Frost’s kids also offering up a juicy 50-1 return at online sportsbooks should it ultimately be the last team standing come the conclusion of the College Football Playoff. Big Red will have taken on the likes of South Alabama, Colorado, Northern Illinois and Illinois to this point. It’s time CFB bettors get an up close and personal look as to just how good this team truly is in Week 5 when Ryan Day’s Buckeyes invade Lincoln with a huge contingent of scarlet and gray fanfare making the trip. Prior to last season’s 36-31 final in the Horseshoe, the Huskers fell to Ohio State by an average of 41.7 points in three straight meetings. Current Game of the Year lines has the Cornhuskers catching 10 points with the power ratings suggesting a pointspread closer to 7. Either way, this should be one of the best Big Ten matchups of the regular season!

Nebraska -3 vs. Wisconsin (Opened Wisconsin -1)
Nebraska +7 vs. Ohio State (Opened Nebraska +10)

Sharp bettors like Nebraska
One team the sharps like more than oddsmakers early is the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Huskers opened as a short underdog at home to Wisconsin on Nov. 16 but the line quickly moved four points to Nebraska -3. Bettors also hopped on the Cornhuskers as a 10-point home dog to Ohio State on Sept. 28. That line moved three points to Nebraska getting a touchdown.

Harrison won't redshirt. He'll get some reps this year.

If I remember correctly, one of the former players turned talk show host in town was saying that the coaches were telling him a slower 40 time than he was actually running this spring, because the actual time was so fast they wanted to keep him grounded.

He came in at 6'5" 250 and he ran 10.78 100 meters in high school.

Never really understood the significance of taking a 100 meter time for a lineman. A 40 yd dash time is more appropriate (from position to sideline). I actually would rather know how fast he can cover 5 - 15 yds.
You want a big wingspan and short burst out of a DE, but I'm not the expert.

It's not significant. He ran the 100 in HS, and I just used that number to show how much of an athletic freak he is.

Comparison: Jadeveon Clowney ran it in 11.43 seconds.

And as we apparently agree, "insignificant".

Huskers first loss of the season. While last seasons game was close, I don't think this one will be. IF Fields can get through the high level of suck he displayed in the spring game, I expect the Bucknuts to keep on keepin' on. They are loaded with talent.

Yeah, so was tejas, USC, Florida, etc. in past years of suckage.

Day has not proven he can coach at a high level. He coached their first 3 games last season.

Oregon St: 2-10
Rutgers: 1-11
TCU: 7-6

Ohio St has also changed some schemes on both side of the ball since last season.

Urbs was an elite coach and still lost games. People are quick to anoint Day to elite status just because he's got talent. He still has to put on the headset and put the pieces together for his team to play elite level. We shall see if Ohio St picks up where Urbs left off.

I think there are only two things that will keep them from Indianapolis. Justin Fields and /or Michigan.

Do you think Ohio St will be playing NY 6 or CFP level football in week 5?

With a new head coach and a freshman QB, anything less than that level of play and they can be beaten on the road by a team like Purdue.

Oh wait. NVM, they had Urbs and Haskins in that game.
