Three things....

1) Nebraska better be watching lots of tape of Purdue/OSU last season and how Rondale Moore owned the day.

2) OSU will assume this to be the case, and will be reviewing the same tape as well as Wandale Robinson

3) The better coaching staff will prevale, but I really hope we let Wandale loose, and successfully. I really hope Washington is healthy, because both of them on the field will be dangerous.
Our defense is pretty different this year. They changed up the coverage scheme and "simplified" the playbook for the LBs. So far, it's looking like a big improvement.

Problem with the bold is their entire defensive scheme is completely different, they play a zone now with man to man sprinkled in at times. Best way to beat it is find those empty spots in bewteen the LB's and you can pick them apart, saw it at times against FAU in week 1.

Ohio St seems to get off to slow starts in the 1st...Nebraska HAS to take advantage of this. I expect this first half to be pretty close and I am no means taking Nebraska lightly. It's always tough playing in that stadium and with a dynamic athlete like Martinez that is hard to stop. Nebraska needs to hold the ball as much as possible, limit their 3 and outs to do this. Much easier said than done but seeing that -17 line, that is a tough spot. I don't expect this to be easy at all.

Ohio State 24

October 22, 2016

Penn State 24
Ohio State 21

Each of the last three years, Ohio State has lost a road game.

Is Nebraska a Purdue, an Iowa, or a Penn State? Probably more like a Purdue.

Bet Ohio State up to 19 points

Mostly new staff, though. Hopefully they can stop the habit of dropping a game they shouldn't

I wouldn't feel comfy anything north of 10.5, but I agree.

If I had a gun to my head to bet one way or the other at (22), I would take Ohio St.

You can toss their FAU and Miami, OH wins.
However, their Cincy (42-0) and Indiana (51-10) wins tell the story.

Ohio St (42-20) or something similar.
Could be over at halftime.

Wow, not enough points. Bet the Buckeyes. I know I am being the negative Nancy here.

i can't believe that many people bet on Nebraska that the books can make the point spread so low.

Total Defense

1. Wisconsin
2. Ohio State

Ohio State has allowed three offensive TDs.
tOSU has given up what, 36 total points this season? We gave up 38 to Illinois on Saturday alone. Dis gonna hurt.

Was waiting for this one and am a bit surprised.

I think with Ohio St having a new coach, a freshman QB, and just being in Lincoln will make this closer than 14.

Frosts teams appear to be more disciplined than Pelini and Riley teams who'd have pissed down their legs and gotten behind 21-0 in the 1st Q of this type of game. The longer the crowd can stay in this makes all the difference in the outcome.

Nebraska 2018

........................1st 6 Games..............Last 6 Games

T.O. Margin........... -7 .............................. +5
Penalties.............. 10.2 ........................... 5.2

You're right though in that it depends how far the Huskers have come 'up-front' on both sides of the ball.

Whether that be run or pass blocking on offense.
Whether that be stopping the run or getting a pass rush on defense.

It's been frustrating watching the Huskers get no pressure on QB's for the last 10 years.
.

Wow, was I drinking the kool-aid 3rd week of July.

"I think with Ohio St having a new coach, a freshman QB, and just being in Lincoln will make this closer than 14."

Seems to be the only thing I've got left going for those thoughts. Ohio St hasn't been challenged in this type of venue thus far. They clobbered Indiana on the road (51-10), but it was a noon ET game. They'll get 90,000 at night in Lincoln. Sunset is at 7:13 pm so most of the 1st Q will be played with daylight. It won't be a full moon. Matter of fact there will be no moon at all, as Saturday night will be a 'New Moon'.

"Frosts teams appear to be more disciplined than Pelini and Riley teams who'd have pissed down their legs and gotten behind 21-0 in the 1st Q of this type of game."

Thanks to Illinois, so much for that. Nebraska fell behind 14-0 in the first 7 minutes. 66 yd TD run by Corbin and a 26 yd TD pass.

Nebraska 2018 Turnover Margin

........................1st 6 Games..............Last 6 Games

T.O. Margin........... -7 .............................. +5
Penalties.............. 10.2 ........................... 5.2

Wrong again....Through 4 games Nebraska is 82nd in Turnover Margin at -.25.
Nebraska is 80th in Fewest Penalties per game at 6.75.
They are 101st at Yards Penalized per game at 65 YPG.

"it depends how far the Huskers have come 'up-front' on both sides of the ball.

Whether that be run or pass blocking on offense.
Whether that be stopping the run or getting a pass rush on defense."

Offensive Line played it's best game run blocking against Illinois. Ohio St's Rushing Offense is 7th.
The O-line hasn't done a good job protecting AM. Seems he'll have to make plays on the run again.
Defensive Line hasn't been too bad against the run at 41st. Ohio St's Rushing Offense is 13th.

Ohio St's Scoring Offense is 3rd at 53 PPG. That os through the roof.
Of the 4 Playoff teams last season, all four were in the Top 8 scoring offenses at 44+ PPG.
