Sens are up 4-0

Things of not are Brian Lee playing big minutes for Ottawa.

Former CHL player of the year Corey Locke getting a look with the Sens. He potted 150+ points for the 67s. Being generous I'll say he gets half of that for the Sens this year. He like Ottawa cooking. ;)

College standout Bobby Butler getting heavy PP minutes for the Sens. He's looked great in camp so far and will challenge for a spot.

As for the Leafs? Well, A guy in Boston named Peter is licking his chops.

Adam Larsson or Sean Couturier?!?

Tough call. The Bs have a pretty good stable of young forwards in Seguin, Bergeron, Krejci, Lucic, Horton etc., I think you bring in the replacement for Chara while Z is still playing well.:p

5-0 final. A -2 for the new Leafs captain. Over to you Sun Media.

On another note: over 20 mins of TOI, an assist and a +2 against the Laffs for David Hale. This guy is trying to play his way onto the Sens; any insights on him from his Flames days Dash?

Should he be playing 15 minutes a game for a team with playoff aspirations?

He's been a solid last pairing guy whenever I've watched him, but he's bounced around so much that there must be something wrong here.

Highly-touted prospect Robin Lehner started the game for the Sens as well and made 24 saves for the shutout.

This kid can't arrive in the bigs quick enough for my liking.

The thing with David Hale is that you can't play him anymore than 15 minutes (if you do, your team is in big, big trouble). He's probably better in the 10-12 minute range.

As for the new Leafs captain, Cox and Simmons are already sharpening the knives.

Yeah.. Kinda what I expected with Hale. We've already got one of those guys in Matt Carkner.

As for Cox/Simmons maybe they can stumble into each other with those freshly sharpened knives. Dingbats.

OK. Let them have a few cracks at 210 first. :D

just saw the highlights.

Oh captain, their captain was the goat on two of the goals.
Foligno made him look silly with footspeed, and then he got burned on a bad pinch.
niiiiiiiiiiiice.

Did you watch the game Kenny? If so, how did last year's QMJHL MVP Mike Hoffman look? I'm guessing he's Bingo bound for a year or 2 but any chance he sticks with the big club even if only for a few games?

out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw Versteeg throw a shoulder elbow in an unsuspecting Sens players face as they were heading to the bench

hope that guy gets tuned this year ... no Eager or Byfuglien to hide behind this year

I was thinking of changing my profile pic but after this start I think old 210 will stay up a while longer.

Kadri isn't off to a great start either - He's another guy I'd like to see get tuned (cocky little SOB)

Prior to the game, Wilson made it clear that Kadri would have ample opportunity to make the team but wouldn't have it handed to him.

"I've got see if Nazem Kadri can play in the NHL," Wilson said. "I'm not handing him a job. He's got to earn it.

"He has to play well. He has to find a way to put points up there. He can't let us down defensively."
