Always makes me nervous to pin it all on the goalie (except Freddy. Freddy is Freddy). That D corps in Edmonton is not great. Not sure Silovs would fare much better, tbh. But I guess that is what the EV stat is supposed to filter out.

It would need to be a Vasilevskiy level "pull saves out of nowhere" type to get any closer with how bad that D corps is.

Vancouver is making Skinner move laterally a lot and changing his angles up. Skinner isn't up to it.

It was only bad because McDavid was falling forward. But like 2011 they will suspend him for 4 games

They'll trot out the "you need to be in control of your stick at all times" combined with "not a hockey play". I don't see 4 games, but I could see half that amount.

It's flying under the radar, but Hyman came in and delivered a cross-check to the head of Zadorov after the above happened. With Zadorov already fined and Soucy likely to be suspended, if the Oilers walk away scot free, that won't sit well either.

I just hope it fucking hurt.

The biggest message I got out of that is the Edmonton players skated meekly away.

The Zadorov action definitely affected where the crosscheck landed.

Question: was McDavid injured? Blood drawn? In so much pain he could not cry to the ref?

Seems to me to be much ado about basically nothing. Sure he got crosschecked but so what. No harm no foul.

Not sure how you suspend Soucy but let Bennett play after blindsiding Marchand (just one example).

And no, I dont believe that "stars" should get preferential treatment.

One of the most dangerous plays last night is barely being mentioned and that was Kane dropping his skate onto Zadorov after Nikita rode him into the Oilers bench. I don't doubt for one second that there was full intent on the part of Evander to hit Nikita with his skate.
