SECCCG: meaningless for LSU?

Is LSU playing in the 1v4 CFP game regardless of the outcome of the SECCCG?

Should they be? Probably yes because they have been one of the two most dominant teams in college football team and the gap isn’t even close.

Will they be, my guess is no, depending on who wins next weekend. If we go chalk of OSU, Oklahoma, Utah, and Clemson; we have OSU, Clemson, and Georgia in guaranteed. Next you have LSU, Oklahoma, and Utah all with one loss and Oklahoma and Utah as conference champs. My guess is Utah will slip in as they will be 5 in the next rankings.

Could almost say this about all 3 of the undefeateds right now. Clemson would catch a lot of flak if they happened to lose but could still very well stay in the top 4. Ohio State as well. That's saying only one out of the 3 lose. Multiple of them losing changes things.

I think Ohio State is the only one that could survive a loss. They have been dominant all season long. They are also number one and would need to fall the furthest to exit the playoffs.

LSU would lose their playoff spot to Uga. Yes I know Georgia is already in a playoff spot but the SECCG is a play in game.

Clemson has a weak schedule and has some ugly games and would have a bad loss to a mediocre at best Virginia.

Even with a loss and therefore a lack of CC, I still think LSU's resume is light years ahead of, say, Utah

They could boatrace Clempson, but tOSU is playing complimentary football...or they had until yesterday, Michigan really threw it around the yard. I was surprised.

This is just my observation as I've watched multiple games of each of these 3 teams.

It gives them a chance at a national championship so it is not worse.

Most likely yes, because enough media has been claiming it should happen. However, LSU wins the game outright.

If LSU loses, they most likely will be playing Clemson in the first game.

They may still be playing them anyway but they'd rather be playing who gets in at #4.

So the SECCG is definitely not meaningless.
