Game Thread: SEC Championship #1 Alabama vs #4 Georgia, 4PM EST, CBS

It might sound like the same old stuff we used to say under Richt, but if I could go forward in time to the start of the 2019 season, I would.

We're the youngest team in the SEC, one of the youngest teams in the country, and we took a dominant Bama team down to the wire. Can't wait to see what this team looks like next season. Hopefully we make a good hire at DC and good luck to Mel Tucker at Colorado.

Yeah, special teams was not where I thought we would have the advantage today, but shit happens.

Punt coverage was terrible, and Rodrigo missed the shortest field goal he's ever missed. Only real positive thing to say about the special teams is I think all the kickoffs went for touchbacks.

They were letting both teams play on defense other than that one questionable PI call against us, but we got an int on the next play, so can't really complain about that.

I don't think either team got a holding call against them on offense.

If UGA can't win, I'd rather it go to a team and fanbase we're already used to seeing winning. The last thing this board needs is an Oklahoma natty.

I don't like the play call, but I don't mind going for it. We had nothing left on defense. If we punt it away, Bama still scores, but we don't have 50 seconds left to try for a miracle to tie the game.

They're probably talking about the third down pass to a receiver at the 5 towards the end of the game. PI doesn't get called on prayer players towards the end of the game, and the refs were letting both teams play, so you can't complain about something like that when they haven't called it all game on either team.

Yeah, outside of the Waddle return we didn't do anything particularly good by other standards, but we hit all 5 extra points...which is above our average. You guys had a couple of self-destruct plays on special teams. I know you guys are all in on Fields, but as good as Fromm was playing today, he seemed like a distraction.

If he's just in there to run the ball, it's a waste. I've seen him hit some great throws.

This should have been been Fromm's game on every snap unless you're bringing in Fields to pick up a third and short with his legs or something. Nothing Fromm did today left us any room to complain.

What??? No you can't rough a receiver up before the ball gets to him and the ball was in the air. Nevertheless it wasn't called and Bama won.
