The question is were the blocking schemes supposed to be adjusted by Haskins or not? This is pretty standard now, it wouldn’t surprise me if he missed some of these himself. Not uncommon for a rookie, but DH is no longer a rookie.
Not that Smith is a great QB, but the two strengths he has had in his career is presnap reads and mobility. Obviously, the mobility is shot now, but he’s intelligent and can play well if he trusts his line (note that even if the line is good, he needs to believe it is good in order to optimize).

If one can get Haskins to improve on the pre-snap reads and mature as a quarterback does, you may get the best of both worlds. I’m not saying Mahomes, but much better than what we’ve seen. There’s only so much that an offensive coordinators can do for a quarterback or a QB can do at this stage (I know, Haskins is not a rookie), etc. It’s a team game.

I am a Niners fan and an Alex Smith fan just to be certain as a disclaimer. So I’m not all in on Haskins, I’m just saying that there are many factors. It could improve greatly and Turner/Smith can help that.

down 3 starters on defense isnt going to help matters . i dont worry about hamilton or reaves but davis isnt fast enough anymore . i think hudson will have to take snaps

Not having Holcomb and KPL will bare itself.

I don't think it happens with Haskins......but hoping WFT team wins.....
I’m calling it. Opening kickoff touchdown return. Then, a punt return for a TD. Then a fumble TD. Then a three and out. Hail Mary TD to end the half.

DH's comments: "When I was playing previously, I was so caught up in trying to make big plays, trying to show I belonged. Well, I'm here. It's time."

This is the game that DH has to somewhat "show out" and play with confidence if he wants any kind of future in DC moving forward. I believe in this kid, his arm strength, his charisma etc. I would like to see him come out and play a care free, no turnover (int or fumble) football game, not asking him to do anything special, and see where the chips fall. Not having Gibson will certainly limit the offense but hey, somone is always hurt in this league so next man up at RB. I really think McKissick has a solid day filling in for Gibson vs Hawks.

This might work out that if Washington plays Seattle in the playoffs, they won’t have the same team to play if Smith plays the playoff game and Gibson is healthy. What is better is subjective and any given Sunday, but it’s at least different.

Gonna have to wait for the final line (I’m thinking we might see Skins +10-1/2 at this point)

But would be willing to bet that the good guys will cover... you in @Sportster 72 ? ;)

@tomcat1 with your experience in the sharpster biz... what do you think the line ends at? Especially with all the latest injuries on D?

sooner or later DH has to turn potential into production here in DC . i feel the fan base is frustrated with him because he has the tools and the smarts to be effective but he is a 18 yr old mature wise which is holding him back
Maybe Urban can get in his ear and tell him to drop the act!

With Haskins starting the betting line has gone as high as Seattle -7 but at 2:00PM on Saturday afternoon it has Seattle -6.5. Personally I think when the sharps get involved just before kickoff this line will close at Seattle -6 or -6.5. I don't like this bet either way for real money but for a beer or two I would bet WTF plus the points only because of my faith in our D.

With the amount of injuries and who is injured this makes sense.

After 13 games from every team all of the teams have injuries at the point in the season. The fortunate teams are the teams that don't have injuries at the key positions.

Very true and I am considering myself as a jinx. I thought a couple of weeks ago how the team had minimal injuries. Now all of a sudden they are piling up.
