Ya I wish their approach was better but I think it's something we'll have to live with in these hitters. They had the best approach in 2010 and a lot of 2011 but all that went away. Mags just needs to keep on drilling the patient approach to their heads.

I'm trying to find the article I read, but it was about a recent trend with winning teams being more aggressive and swinging early at the plate. There's a lot of good teams this year who swing at first pitches more than the Rangers do (24%): Atlanta (32%), Cincinatti (32%), Detroit (29%), St. Louis (29%). League average is 27%, and Rangers are actually 7th from the bottom. Pitchers these days are so damn good that you kind of have to jump at first pitches because they are good pitches to hit more often than not.
