Kinda seems like the Dodgers have held and continue to hold the leverage regarding a Darvish trade.

They have just acquired Tony Watson from the Pirates

Yeah 42 minutes still. But if LAD won't give up a top guy for a top pitcher, then screw them.
LAD sending signals they are more into getting relief help. Might be a ploy to get Claudio thrown in the deal.

Clearly JD hasn't been offered enough apparently but getting nothing to buildup the farm aside from one player for Lucroy and Jeffress could prove to be a major blunder

You never know. These last few minutes end up being speed dial 'who blinks first' kind of deals.

If JD doesn't trade Yu, I would say that is a very strong indicator that they intend to go all-in and re-sign him this offseason. For if they were even thinking about not bringing him back, it wouldn't make any sense at all for JD to hold onto him and then just let him walk for nothing (even if the current trade offers are weak). If you've decided that he's too expensive/old for a big commitment this offseason, you absolutely have to take what you can get for him now.

The worst possible scenario, both for JD's legacy and the Rangers in general, would be to hold on to Yu at the deadline and then watch him sign elsewhere in the offseason.

At this point, it looks like all-in on the Darvish/Otani duo.

Hope to hell he is reasonable. We don't need another 7 year contract. Choo has us hamstrung since signing. He and Fielder.

No idea how it will play out with Otani but I was about to type something pretty similar in regards to Darvish. Getting nothing and him bolting in FA is gonna make it look real bad

Just a reminder that with the Qualifying Offer system, the Rangers will get a first round pick if Darvish leaves for another team.

Looks like the Dodgers were too busy elsewhere
