Gritty guy, did the best he could. Hope he can stick with the big club.

I almost forgot the whole Fraser/Smyth/Brule fiasco that landed him here in the first place and how Dumbo blasted Tambellini and the Oilers.

Training camp open Sept 12. Physicals on the 11th.

NHL Training Camps open - 2013-2014 Season Preview

Ox

Might have to play a little hookey this year and take some of the kids. Been a long, long time since I attended a training camp, probably 7-8 years if not more.

Most of these guys will not make the club this season and who knows if ever in the organization or NHL but the kids will enjoy seeing some live hockey.

The Kings will only be at their practice rink Friday September 19th and Saturday September 20th so those are the only two days you will be able to go. Rest of the camp will be at Staples center and not open to the public

Another great sign. My season tickets arrived yesterday. Included a vial of water which is labeled as Stanley Cup Finals ice. Certificate of authenticity signed by Luc and all but who really knows whats in that tube. It'll go with my glass puck filled with ice (thawed out of course) from the 2012 Cup Finals.

Funny though that my daughter didn't get hers yet. Her seat is right next to mine.

Thanks for the heads up, I may take them next Friday then. I'm usually in meetings all day at the office in Upland, might have to have a vision problem that day - can't see myself going to work.

Interesting they have closed off practices, they afraid Bill Bellichick is going to attend or something?

Its probably because their other practices are going to be at Staples and they can't really just open it and let people walk in. Maybe if they charged people $10 bucks or something

They might even have to charge more than that just to cover the extra people they'd have to bring in to cover security and customer service. Of course they could open up a few concession stands and make a little something there selling the overpriced food and drinks.

Sometimes there are no announcers or commentators so sound isn't included

Not sure if this goes here but figured why not:

I hope Richards can get back to form, that would be huge for the Kings

Mike Richards not content to be Kings' fourth-line center - Cross Checks Blog - ESPN

Heard about this article on SIRIUS today. They thought DL should have bought him out. At his age a wake-up call should not be needed.
I think DL making the trip up there shows either he was worried or that he really likes Mike.
Paying $$$ for a fourth line center is not a good way to spend the cap space

Well they're pretty much stuck with him now since Lombardi opted not to use the compliance buyout. Sure he can still buy out the contract but it still counts against the cap. If he doesn't improve from last year the only way out would be via a trade. The Kings might get something back in the form of picks or 3rd/4th line players in a trade but they'd have to find a desperate team.

Personally I like Richards and hope he returns to form or at least close to it. Sutter's problem is where to fit him in. Replace Carter as the 2nd line center? Carter did so well centering Toffoli and Pearson it would hard to break that combination up. Try him on the wing again? Not sure that will work. It didn't when it was tried before. Gonna be interesting to follow.

I wanted a compliance buyout on Richards, in retrospect im glad he is still a King. I can only imagine he is a huge part of the chemistry of this team and he is a competitor. All these guys deserve my support even when they don't play as well as I think they should, they brought us 2 cups and 3 wcf. When it was time to win, they won. This is the greatest time in Kings history and im "all in" with this crew. I know some will leave, some will play poorly and I will complain but I will always be grateful these guys did what no other group of Kings players could.

Well, Pearson isn't a sure thing on the 2nd line. He had a good post season but he only has like what? 40-60 games of NHL experience?

Ideally, you could do

Williams-Kopitar-Gaborik
Carter-Richards-Toffoli
Brown-Stoll-Pearson
King-Lewis-Clifford

I dunno, I really liked Pearson and enjoyed his hustle. He seemed to make things happen and I like him with TT
