My take is Wright took a bullet for the Snyder’s and

1) something was planned to honor Sean at the alumni game, renaming the street etc
2) there was talk of resigning Sean’s N.O. But it was not intended to happen with 3 days notice or at this time
3) that was an easy bait and switch we are familiar with
4) as a fan, sadly, you have to question Wrights credibility over this acquiescence and fear for the rebranding, name roll out

Lavar Arrington and Ryan Clark said both said they were made aware of doing "something" for Sean Taylor well before the announcement.

That would lend to the idea that retiring his number was a possibility all along. However the three day notice was likely to try and change the narrative that was growing based on the 650,000 emails and other things the Wilkinson might have in it.

It does anger me that they would retire his number before players who deserved it more than he did. I think back to all Bobby Mitchell has done for decades for this organization and they didn't retire his number until he passed. His on field play, being the first Afro-American on the Redskins was HUGE.

If the WTF is going to retire numbers than these guys should have had their numbers retired already
