In anticipation of this Xmas eve game at the Texans, ol' Butch rolls out this nugget

This is what Hobspin's twitter looks like when you are covering a team playing out the string I guess. Been awhile since we've been subjected to this schlock. Bound to happen I suppose...

Quite possibly the most arbitrary, useless statistic ever devised.

Never change Butch, never change.

Only the Bengals would pride themselves on beating Manziel, Jimmy Clausen and Brock Berlin (lmao)

Speaking of our beat writers.... I normally just laugh as they try to come up with some new angle to cover this crappy franchise..... I mean, I think we've all seen this movie before so what the hell can they tell us now?

But, I have to say that I read an incredibly interesting article by the Enquirer guys today. This article details how historically awful the Bengals offense has been in close games this season.

It's actually pretty amazing - They are worse than they were at any point in the 90s. And how can Zampese keep his job with this sort of data?

Those numbers are remarkable. In a truly pathetic way.

23 drives in the 4th quarter of one possession games have resulted in:

12 punts
6 turnovers
1 TD....1!! And it was the fucking London tie game.

Jesus Mary and Joseph.... Is Akili Smith back in town?

Akili Smith would be playing wide receiver for the browns in 2016

All starts from the inside out, we have got to start treating the OL like it's a priority, not an after thought. no one looks good when the OL can't win the initial battle.

oh, and Brandon LaFell... is average. Better than Tate I guess. but damn... why can't we have a #2 receiver. step up Tyler Boyd!!!

I'm honestly okay with LaFell. The skill players are fine. I'd be okay with replacing Hill in the draft.

The problems offensively begin and end with the offensive line. It will only get better when they let Zeitler walk in the offseason.

Couple that with the trash coaching and amateur ass playcalling and you get the 2016 Bengals offense.

They drafted two tackles, a center and a guard within the past 4 drafts..... And they got Boling (who is good) before that and extended him. It's not that they haven't paid attention to the line, it's just that the guys they have drafted have basically sucked. Our best hope is that Fisher ends up being a better than average right tackle, Boling continues to perform well, and Whitworth plays one more season. Then we really only need to replace two guys.

I actually think the skill players will be fine..... If they had a better coordinator they would be better.

2 starters, an heir apparent to whitworth, and a few solid backups, because players get injured. that's basically a whole line.

of course they have tried, but they don't seem to know what it takes.
