While I too would want a proven HC, I would still think that Frost would be a definite upgrade over Bo.

Mildly interesting article on Frost:
Will Scott Frost Be Nebraska?s Kliff Kingsbury? | Yardbarker.com

This guy's article on 12 coordinators that should soon be HC includes Frost, but also has a couple others in there I would still consider over him:
12 assistants I expect to become head coaches...soon

I honestly don't know who would be interested in the job but the more I look the more I tend to believe there are plenty of choices to pick from, and while I would ultimately be okay with Frost if they couldn't go after some of the more high profile coaches, I'd still be a lot happier with a proven, experienced HC.

Someone with the ability to choose assistants that can coach kids "up" and in this program that is essential. Someone that realizes strength and conditioining coaches are just as important as other assistants. Someone that knows how to recruit and can hire assistants that can recruit. Someone that's not so inflexible that he won't change a game plan or even coaches if they don't work out. Someone when it comes to dealing with the press/palyers/public can say more than just "fuckem".

those qualifications don't seem to require previous head coaching experience to me tho

i also don't see many head coaches out there that have proven that ability

How about bud foster??

I know he would be a rookie coach but how would yall feel about it. plus we could pay him low and give his staff a lot of money to keep them around

I want someone who's made something out of nothing as a head coach. Not someone who's merely maintained for a couple years what someone else created. Someone who's had success everywhere they've been at any level up to a minimum of FBS.

I do not want a high risk coordinator. Especially a coordinator with 3 months experience. There are only so many 5-6 year periods left in my life.

Bud is really loyal to his HC considering the number of years they've worked with each other OR he knows he's not HC material.

Is Jim Tressel still in the picture? I remember his name being brought up a lot. I know he has the five game/conference title/bowl game ban, but, he has a good relationship with TO. TO took his back after the scandal, any chance TO could get the penalties reduced if hired? Just curious.

On Scott Frost, wouldn't be against him. Too many reasons to like it, only knock is experience. In his defense, he in his 7th season as an assistant, whereas guys like Pat Fitzgerald had 8 (never a coordinator), and Kliff Kingsbury only had 5. Frost's time at Oregon would be a big attraction on the recruiting trail.

We may have talked to him.....but right now Bo still controls his own destiny as Nebraska still controls it's own.

Until Nebraska is 100% out of the BIG Championship game, Bo is still here. Right now all he has to do is win.

You mean Saturday night? NW is gonna truck our Huskers...

I have my doubts on that. If Venric Mark was playing maybe, but I think the defense is back to basics for the time being once again. I think Nebraska covers the spread.

Any other year and I am with you. But NW is looking for the first conference win, NW always plays the Huskers tough and at this point, the coaching staff can't adjust, can't motivate and flat out can't coach. It is just screaming upset (for the second week in a row).
